Our Adoption Procedure
Once you've found the cat of your dreams and wish to begin the adoption process, email our Adoption Manager (adopt@anje

lliclecats.com) or click on the links above to fill out an application online. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend a seminar in cat care that lasts about 75 minutes. We invite both experienced and novice alike and are presently offering this as an online group seminar via Zoom or Skype. Then you would sign the adoption papers, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat. Then we coordinate pick up by the adopter or drop off by the foster, depending on what both parties are comfortable doing. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, $75 for one cat 7 years and older. This fee includes initial shots, microchip, FIV FeLV test, deworming, and spay/neuter. We believe it is much kinder to adopt kittens with another kitten or cat unless there is already a cat or a very cat-friendly dog in their new household, and for this reason, we generally do not adopt out single kittens.

🚨 URGENT NYC AREA FOSTER NEEDED TO GET SENIOR OUT OF ACC 🚨

Our hearts are breaking for Annabelle.

This beautiful senior girl is sitting in a cage at NYC ACC through no fault of her own. Her owner, who has dementia, could no longer care for her and was forced to surrender her.

Tragically, this isn't the first time Annabelle has lost everything.

Years ago, Anjellicle Cats took Annabelle in after her previous owner had to move into disabled housing and couldn't bring her beloved cats along. She eventually found another home, only to lose it again because of circumstances completely beyond anyone's control.

Now this sweet, gentle girl is once again alone in a shelter cage.

Annabelle is an absolutely gorgeous long-haired love bug. She adores affection, will happily curl up beside you for snuggles. She previously lived with other cats and formed a very close bond with one of them. For the past 9½ years she has been the only pet in her home so would need a slow introduction into a home with other cats.

After losing her family twice, Annabelle deserves comfort—not another cage.

We are desperately looking for a foster who can give this wonderful senior the soft bed, quiet home, and love she so desperately needs while we search for her forever family.

Can you open your heart and home to Annabelle? Even fostering will save her from spending her days in a cage.

URGENT: NY-BASED FOSTER NEEDED IMMEDIATELY 🚨

Meet TY

For months, this sweet, friendly little kitten lived at the loading dock of a building with little to no care. Kind people stopped to feed her and show her love, and several tried to rescue her, but every attempt was turned away by the landlord, who wanted to keep her for rat control.

At the last rescue attempt, she was found lying beneath a dumpster, lethargic, dragging her hind legs, and with a completely limp tail.

She was rushed to the emergency hospital, where we learned she had suffered multiple injuries and couldn't urinate on her own. We were told the kindest thing to do would be to euthanize her.

We said no.

Because we believed this little girl deserved a chance to fight. And so did her veterinary team. They believe Ty has an excellent prognosis. With 2–4 weeks of strict cage rest and supportive care, they expect her to regain normal bladder function and be able to urinate on her own again.

What amazed us most wasn't just what she had endured—it was her spirit. Despite being in tremendous pain, Tai-Tai never stopped being affectionate. She leaned into every gentle touch, purred through the pain, sought out human attention, and trusted the very people trying to help her. Even after everything she had been through, her loving nature never faded. She is truly a very special little girl.

Now she needs:

🏠 An urgent foster home is needed for the next 2–4 weeks so Tai-Tai can recover. During that time, she'll need her bladder expressed twice a day. We'll teach you everything you need to know, and we'll be there to support you every step of the way.

Without a foster home, we don't know where Ty will be able to recover.

She has already overcome so much. Now she just needs one person willing to give her a safe place to heal so she can have the future she deserves.

No more sad eyes for Finley 254467! We pulled this skinny 8-year-old from Queens ACC after he was abandoned in an apartment with 17 other cats and 2 pitbulls. Sweet Finley seems to be settling in well in his foster home, already getting cumfy on the couch while accepting a nail trim. He has the usual shelter cold along with serious dental disease we will address as soon as he is feeling better. EMERGENCY FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED ASAP

Rosita has nowhere to go.

After spending nearly a YEAR living alone in a cage, this sweet 11-year-old girl finally thought she was safe. She finally had a home. A warm lap. Love. Comfort. Someone to sleep beside.

For the first time in so long, Rosita could finally relax and feel loved.

But now, through no fault of her own, her foster has to leave unexpectedly and Rosita is once again about to lose her home.

We are devastated for her. After everything she has already endured, we cannot bear the thought of this loving senior girl going back into boarding or another cage. She deserves so much more than that.

Rosita is one of the most affectionate cats you will ever meet. She adores people, happily curls up in your lap, follows you from room to room, and simply wants to be near someone who loves her.

She is calm, gentle, friendly, and so grateful for every bit of attention she gets.

We are heartbroken to share that Lullaby has passed away.

Just days ago, we had so much hope but her condition suddenly declined, and unfortunately, she did not make it.
Lullaby was truly something special. Even while struggling, she never stopped being sweet. She purred, made biscuits, and leaned into every hand that reached for her. She gave nothing but love until her very last moments.
We are devastated. She deserved so much more time. But we are grateful she knew love, comfort, and kindness — even if only for a short while.

🙏 To everyone who donated, shared, and supported her — thank you. You gave her a chance.

💸 We do still have significant hospital bills from her emergency and ICU care.
