Congratulations to Rhodes College Scholar Yasmine Pirlepesova on winning the Fulbright Student Award - one of five winners at the College.

Graduating senior Yasmine Pirlepesova is the fifth Rhodes student selected to receive a Fulbright U.S. Student Award for 2026-2027. The biology major is the recipient of the competitive Fulbright Study/Research Award and will conduct research in Nepal.

We are thrilled to announce that Cornell University and Posse Ubben Fellow Alum Gloria Oladipo was selected as a The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans recipient.

The award will support her graduate studies as she pursues an MFA in Playwrighting at Yale University.

Middlebury College Posse alum and recent David Prize winner Rana Abdelhamid authored an Opinion piece for the The New York Times on the role of self defense in our society and her years long work teaching her personal protection curriculum around the world.

She started teaching these classes after she was attacked as a teenager.

"In my classes, people exchange phone numbers. They walk one another home. They check in and march together. They show up. Self-defense becomes a shared language, a way of caring for one another in a world that too often tells us to endure quietly," says Rana.
