Posse has received a grant from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation.

"For over three decades, Posse has shown what’s possible when students are given real access and a community that believes in them," says Saskia Levy Thompson, Carnegie’s program director for education. "Carnegie is delighted to support its work expanding access to mobility-engine colleges and improving postsecondary outcomes for first-generation and low-income students."

Bucknell University Scholar Angel Yanga is garnering recognition for her disease ecoimmunology research, winning both Posse's Ubben Fellowship award and the Barry Goldwater Scholarship.

Posse alumni Daphne Nwobike and Akamewane Ebude are taking their next steps toward careers rooted in leadership and service.

This fall, Daphne, a University of the South alum, will begin pursuing her law degree at University of Virginia on a full-tuition scholarship. University of Rochester alum Akamewane will head to Harvard University for a post-baccalaureate research and training position as she prepares for advanced study in medicine.

“I hope to pay it forward by taking every opportunity to serve as a resource to those who come after me,” says Daphne.

“I want to find ways to connect people instead of divide them,” says Hilary. “I want to keep learning, questioning, and helping create positive change.”

Union College Scholar Hilary Payano credits her student government community with helping her to find her voice, focus her career aspirations, and hone her ability to communicate across difference.

She is amongst the small percentage of students who will serve as class president during their college careers.

Congratulations to Rhodes College Scholar Yasmine Pirlepesova on winning the Fulbright Student Award - one of five winners at the College.

Graduating senior Yasmine Pirlepesova is the fifth Rhodes student selected to receive a Fulbright U.S. Student Award for 2026-2027. The biology major is the recipient of the competitive Fulbright Study/Research Award and will conduct research in Nepal.
