🏆 We are delighted to announce that the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (Malaysia) has been awarded the 2026 Society Education Prize in honor of Lester Conrad.

The Society’s application was selected as the one that most strongly embodied the spirit and guidelines of the Award, recognising its commitment to advancing education within the cosmetic science community.

🎓 As part of the prize, the IFSCC will support the Malaysian Society’s educational efforts with up to CHF 8,000 over three years, helping bring its proposed educational programme to life.

The award will be officially presented during the Opening Ceremony of the IFSCC 2026 Perth Congress on Monday, 28 September.

🌏 This achievement is a wonderful example of how IFSCC Member Societies contribute to education, knowledge sharing, and the growth of our global cosmetic science community.

✨ Meet the 2026 Young Scientist Essay Award winner!

What does it mean to be a young scientist in cosmetic science today?

For Rafael Sánchez Becerra, it definitely means looking beyond technical complexity and asking how science can create meaningful, sustainable impact.

The 2026 Young Scientist Essay Award in honor of Maison G. de Navarre recognises Rafael - and his essay “Migration: Skin Under Exposome Switch. A new model for personalization” - for his approach to cosmetic science, combining formulation expertise with a strong focus on sustainable business growth, scientific outreach, and the role of innovation in shaping the future of our industry.

Originally from Maracaibo, Venezuela, Rafael is also a passionate advocate for Latin American innovation, working to bring the region’s scientific potential to a global stage.

🏆 First awarded in 1988, the Maison G. de Navarre Young Scientist Essay Award gives a young cosmetic scientist the opportunity to attend an IFSCC Congress.�The 2026 winner receives travel, accommodation and registration support of up to CHF 5,000 to attend the IFSCC Congress in Perth.

🌎 Building new connections, strengthening our global community.

As part of the VI Latin American Congress on Alternative Methods to the Use of Animals, Silvia H. Pérez, IFSCC's Zone Leader Coordinator and Praesidium representative for Argentina, showcased the work of the Asociación Centroamericana de Ciencias Cosméticas ACACC at the University of Costa Rica.

The presentation was an opportunity to introduce researchers, professors, students, and industry professionals to the IFSCC, highlighting the many ways they can become involved in our global cosmetic science community - from participating in educational initiatives and scientific activities to submitting research for future IFSCC Congresses and publications.

By fostering new collaborations and encouraging scientific exchange across regions, the IFSCC continues to support researchers at every stage of their careers and strengthen the future of cosmetic science worldwide.
