Twenty-five years ago, New Yorkers answered tragedy with unity, resilience, and compassion. This September, we continue to build a living memorial through acts of kindness and service.

New York Cares is proud to once again partner with 9/11 Day to help stage the largest day of service ever organized in America.

From Tuesday, September 8 through Friday, September 11, more than 1,000 New York Cares volunteers will come together at Pier 86 to help pack meals for New Yorkers facing food insecurity. We’d love for you to be one of them.

No experience needed. You’ll choose your day and shift and pick a role:

📢 Table Captains: Orient volunteers and oversee a set of packing tables.
➡️ Event Support: Check in and direct volunteers, pass out hairnets, and keep things moving.
💪 Heavy Lifters: Resupply tables and load meals onto pallets.

Come be part of an unforgettable tribute to the spirit that carried our city forward.

Brews & Views is back, and yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.

Our Rising Leaders Council has curated all the best vibes for a Saturday out: local brews, wine, specialty food and drinks, lawn games for the competitive among us, and Hudson River views that make everyone’s camera roll look impressive.

Every ticket supports New York Cares and our Stand with Students campaign, which means you get to feel great about your life choices while cracking open a cold one. This is what they call a win-win.

Bring your friends. Bring your questionable co****le technique. Bring your appetite for doing good (and snacks).

We’re proud to share that New York Cares Team Leader Jen Zanzonico has been named NY1’s New Yorker of the Week!

Jen started volunteering with us a decade ago, and these days she’s with us every single week. You’ll find her stocking backpacks with school supplies, helping kids at community projects, and reminding all of us why showing up matters.

This city gave her everything, and she wants to give something back. “How lucky am I to be born here and to grow up here and just have everything at my fingertips?” Jen said.

Congratulations, Jen! New York is lucky to have you, and so are we.

Last night, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce fans came together to make a difference at our Swifties Stand with Students event at PS 20 on the Lower East Side!

Right now, thousands of NYC families are struggling to choose between buying groceries and school supplies, but with the help of their neighbors, they can get what they need through New York Cares.

Swifties packed over 2,200 backpacks with school supplies that will go straight into the hands of kids who need them the most.

And that’s something worth celebrating, which is why Swifties brought friendship bracelets, fan crafts, and enjoyed a selfie booth and live DJ while volunteering.

Special thanks to:

💍 Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, whose generous wedding gift to New York Cares inspired fans to choose the cause and be the effect
