Rescue efforts are still ongoing in Nepal, with a death toll of over 1,000 people and roughly 4,000 missing, according to UNOCHA.

The country may need $4-5 billion to rebuild now - nearly 10% of its annual GDP. Fossil fuel companies should pay to support the people and communities harmed by human-induced climate change, such as global warming and subsequent floods, which are caused by the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gas. Since President Trump reopened Dilley detention center in Texas, more than half of the nearly 3,500 people held there have been minors.

No child should be held behind bars for being an immigrant. EVER. No child should live in fear of being brutally snatched out of their schools and communities. No parent should worry that their brave decision to flee home to provide a better life for their family in the U.S. could result in even more danger.

You can feel the urgency to act within these heartbreaking words from a child who was detained in Dilley: “To this day, I don't know what we did wrong to be detained… I feel like I'll never get out of here. I just ask that you don't forget about us.”

UNEP’s latest report reveals that we are on track to overshoot the 1.5°C (2.7° F) goal written into the Paris Agreement. But this isn't just about warming temperatures - it's about the real people who will suffer harm, their rights, justice, and accountability.

🕯️For the 17th consecutive year, the USA was the only country in the Americas to execute people.

🕯️Nearly 1,950 people in the U.S. were on death row at the end of 2025. As of May 2026, over 550 people have death sentences in California. That's more than 25% of all people with death sentences in the entire U.S.

🕯️Governor Newsom has the power to directly grant clemency for about 40% of those with death sentences in California. He can ask the state Supreme Court to recommend commuting the death sentences for the others.

Two Palestinian journalists are still missing.

Israeli forces detained Nidal al-Waheidi and Haitham Abdelwahed three years ago. We don’t know why or where they are or even if they’re alive. Their families have no idea where they are or if they’ll ever see them again.

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya stood at the centre of Kamal Adwan Hospital as Gaza's healthcare system collapsed around him. Day in, day out, he treated his patients and carried out his medical duties, working through unbearable loss and grief. He bore witness to the devastating toll of Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Throughout this time, Dr. Abu Safiya, like numerous Palestinian healthcare workers, refused to abandon his patients. He stayed at the hospital until the last second when Israeli forces raided it again and arbitrarily arrested him on 27 December 2024.

Today, Dr. Abu Safiya spent over 600 days behind bars in Israeli detention. He is still being held without charge, separated from his family, his colleagues, and the children he lovingly treated.

Israeli authorities must immediately and unconditionally release Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and all other arbitrarily detained Palestinians.

The Israeli cabinet statement as captured in Israel Katz’s social media posts claiming to treat balloons and kites flown in the Gaza Strip as military drones further strips away any prospects for moments of joy for children in Gaza, who have been denied a childhood by Israel’s ongoing genocide.
