Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. unequivocally stands with survivors of sexual violence and unequivocally condemns acts of sexual abuse, assault, and exploitation.

Together, we must foster cultures of respect, accountability, and safety. One way we can do that is by stepping in with CARE:

🔹 C: Create a distraction to help de-escalate a risky situation.
🔹 A: Ask directly if someone needs help or support.
🔹 R: Rally others and seek assistance from trusted individuals or authorities.
🔹 E: Extend support by listening, staying present, and connecting survivors with resources.

We all have a role to play in preventing harm and supporting one another.

Congratulations to Dr. Francisco M. Lugo on being named a recipient of the 2026 Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Award by the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA)! 🏆

For nearly two decades, Dr. Lugo has dedicated his career to mentoring students and professionals, advancing fraternity and sorority life, and creating communities where members can lead, belong, grow, and thrive. His impact extends across higher education and the fraternal movement through leadership with AFA, NALFO, NASPA, and our own Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Dr. Lugo’s commitment to Phi Iota Alpha spans more than two decades. He previously served as Executive Director, continues his service as a member of our Board of Trustees, and serves as a trustee of The 1931 Foundation.

We proudly celebrate our Hermano for this distinguished recognition and thank him for his continued dedication to developing leaders and strengthening the fraternal experience.
