More than ten years after Vanessa registered as a potential stem cell donor, the call finally came. 📞

She first joined the registry after her 7-year-old niece, Natalee, was diagnosed with leukemia. Vanessa knew very little about stem cell donation at the time. She just knew she wanted to be there for another family searching for a match. ❤️

Then, in February 2026, she got a call from DKMS while driving to work. She was a potential match.

After additional testing, Vanessa traveled to Washington, DC to donate. ✈️ When we asked if she would ever do it again, her answer was simple: “Yes, absolutely.”

You never know when joining the registry today might matter to someone years from now.

Ready to join? Take the first step and register as a potential stem cell donor. 🧬

Swabbing your cheek takes about 3 minutes. That's it. That's the whole ask.

It adds you to the DKMS stem cell donor registry, which patients with blood cancer rely on to find a stem cell transplant match.

Small effort, potentially huge impact for someone you'll never meet.

FAQ: How much does it cost to donate?
A: There are no costs incurred by donors. Registration is free, and if you are called to donate, all costs are covered by DKMS. If your employer does not offer PTO, we have a program to assist with that as well.

Last Pride, Catrin stopped at our booth and decided to join the stem cell registry.

That one decision eventually put her in a position to donate stem cells to someone who needed them.

Her story is a reminder that registering often starts with a very ordinary moment. You see the booth. You take a few minutes. You decide to add your name.

Watch Catrin tell the rest in her own words, then take the step she did.

Join the stem cell registry.

Big news from Variety today: Nile Rodgers & Chic are headlining our 20th anniversary gala this October 🎉

The black tie evening takes place October 15th at Cipriani Wall Street in New York and will include a performance from New York City Ballet principal dancer Joseph Gordon, along with the story of Ezra and his donor Dallas, a match made possible 15 years after Dallas first swabbed at a college drive.

Twenty years of bringing donors and patients together for second chances. We cannot wait to celebrate with you.

Nile Rodgers & Chic will headline the 20th annual gala for DKMS, a top non-profit organization fighting blood cancer and blood disorders.

Thinking about joining the registry is easy to put off. Actually joining means making yourself available as a potential stem cell donor if you are ever matched with someone who needs one.

That first decision matters, even if you never know what comes next.

If joining has been on your mind, take the next step: swab and join the registry.

Pride is about showing up as exactly who you are. And exactly who you are could also be someone’s potential stem cell match.

At Charlotte Pride, DKMS celebrated the people who make this community what it is while sharing how simple it is to join the stem cell registry and what stem cell donation could mean for someone who needs a transplant.

Be proud. Be you. Be on the registry.

Join the registry. 🌈

Adithya is a stem cell donor, which means somewhere out there, someone's story looks different because he said yes.

That's the kind of impact one decision can have.🙏

What is a DKMS stem cell swab? It's a quick, painless cheek swab that takes about a minute and adds you to the stem cell donor registry, the database doctors search when a blood cancer patient needs a stem cell transplant. One swab could be the exact match someone's been waiting on.

Ready to swab? Comment "Swab Today" and we will send you the link to register!
