IT’S TIME TO KICKOFF A NEW SEASON!

This season, we’re exploring what it means for a single voice to resound — to ring out and echo far beyond where it began. There’s no better place to start than where our sound has always come from first: the room where we sing together.
Join us for THE GATHERING: RESOUND — a powerful and inspiring afternoon of community building through music. Through the lens of gospel, we’ll explore a variety of songs while celebrating the rich legacy of the Grammy-nominated, TONY® Honors Recipient Broadway Inspirational Voices — over three decades of using song as a force for hope, healing, and connection.

This isn’t a performance to watch from your seat — it’s an invitation to be part of the sound itself. Experienced singer, choir lover, or don’t consider yourself a singer at all? Everyone is welcome. And it’s completely FREE — our gift to you as we kick off the season together. 💙

From Rising 🌱 to Resounding 🎶 Last season, we celebrated our roots and the growth that emerged from them. This year, we’re taking it further.

Introducing our 2026–2027 season theme: RESOUND

Since 1994, BIV has used song as a force for hope, healing, and connection. To resound means to ring out loudly, clearly, and continuously — it means a single voice can become a collective movement. It means what begins in one room can echo into countless lives. This season, we’re celebrating over three decades of sound while exploring new ways our voices, artistry, and service can create even greater impact.

The Rewind ⏮️ | To open this year’s Spring Benefit Concert, Nio Levon Norwood - Nkusudi wrote and composed “Rising With Purpose”, a song that goes beyond a gorgeous piece for the choir to sing. It is a declaration, a proud reflection on where we’ve come from and what we’ve built together, it galvanizes us, and it speaks to where we are confidently headed as an organization and community.

The Rewind ⏮️ | As our series continues we had to take a moment and share some of these beautiful snapshots from LaGuardia High School Gospel Choir’s annual Spring Concert back in April. It is always such a treat to connect and creatively collaborate with these young artists as a part of our Mentorship Program! We’ve watched them grow and take on positions of leadership from conducting to section leading and we could not be prouder.
