This resource lays out how you can best support the trans youth in your life, and ensure as few gaps in healthcare as possible during policy changes. *All* young people deserve access to the healthcare they need to thrive.

Just now, A4TE's legal team walked into court to advocate for Dr. Gennifer Herley, a trans woman seeking gender-affirming facial surgery. Aetna Life Insurance Company (Aetna) covers similar surgeries for cisgender patients but will not cover them for trans people.

Today, A4TE's team will argue that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit should uphold a decision that requires Aetna to reconsider denying Dr. Herley coverage for the surgery.

We've been working on this case since 2024, when A4TE's team filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Aetna on behalf of trans people denied coverage of gender-affirming facial procedures. This work is far from over, but we are proud of this moment as we continue our advocacy in this case.

Six major hospitals will end gender-affirming care programs for youth patients after months of intimidation from Trump, setting a worrying precedent for *any* healthcare he doesn't like. Politicians need to stay OUT of our medical care.

At least six hospitals have reached agreements with President Donald Trump's administration to stop offering gender-affirming treatment for transgender minors.

The states are fighting back against Trump's new rule prohibiting Medicaid/CHIP coverage of transition-related care for youth! 21 attorneys general are suing the administration, arguing that healthcare decisions should stay between families and their doctors.

The states argue that the administration cannot override their decisions about medically necessary care for transgender people.
