Repost from ESSENCE

Before she was a Pulitzer Prize winner, a MacArthur “Genius,” or one of the most influential journalists of her generation, Nikole Hannah-Jones was a young Black girl looking for herself in the pages of ESSENCE.

That search for possibility eventually became a life dedicated to telling our stories. In our latest digital cover story, the 2026 ESSENCE Festival of Culture curator reflects on coming full circle, why community remains our greatest strength, and how she’s building spaces where Black people can gather, learn, and feel affirmed, from the Author’s Pavilion to her new literary home, North Star Books + Bar.

Read Nikole Hannah-Jones’ digital cover story, now on ESSENCE.com, and grab your special edition double issue on newsstands today.

There is something special about gathering with people who understand both the work and the why.
COGI (formerly COCCI) does it again with another conference that is unmatched!

🤩The clinicians, researchers, advocates, and caregivers who showed up with brilliance, vulnerability, and an unwavering commitment to changing what’s possible!

✨The energy & creativity is 🔥. The conversations continue long after sessions end. And somehow, every year, it feels less like a conference, and more like a family reunion built on hope, healing, and purpose.

Thank you to the incredible COGI Team for creating a space where patients are centered, stories are honored, and equity is more than a conversation- it’s the standard we’re all working toward. 💜🖤

The Kenneth Rainin Foundation included our work in thei Turning Points 2025: Year in Review Report. We’re proud to be featured alongside other organizations and researchers who are transforming the understanding of IBD.

Repost from Kenneth Rainin Foundation

We’re thrilled to share our latest Turning Points: Year in Review report. As we reflect on 2025, we are celebrating the beautiful power of showing up for each other.

In the face of widespread uncertainty and fear, our Arts, Education and Health grantees remained true to their work and those they serve.

Follow the link in our bio to read how they created space for care, connection and joy.
