Orion Miller se incorporó a la sección de contrabajos de la San Francisco Symphony al inicio de la temporada 2024–25, a los 21 años, bajo la dirección de Esa-Pekka Salonen. Estudió en la Shepherd School of Music de Rice University con Timothy Pitts, graduándose en primavera de 2024, y anteriormente en el Juilliard Pre-College con Eugene Levinson. Comenzó tocando chelo a los tres años y se pasó al contrabajo a los once.
Ha sido becario del Tanglewood Music Center, el Aspen Music Festival and School y la Music Academy of the West, donde fue seleccionado como Keston MAX Fellow, distinción que incluyó una residencia con la London Symphony Orchestra en noviembre de 2022. Fue contrabajo principal de la National Youth Orchestra of the USA y del New York String Orchestra Seminar, se presentó junto a la Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra en el Carnegie Hall y colaboró regularmente con la Houston Symphony.
Como solista ha actuado con la Park Avenue Chamber Symphony y la Eastern Symphony Orchestra. Entre sus galardones figuran el primer premio del Ruth Burr Competition, el segundo premio en el Lynn Harrell Concerto Competition de la Dallas Symphony Orchestra (2021), el segundo premio en el ISB Orchestral Competition (2023) y dos reconocimientos de la YoungArts Foundation. Actualmente es coach de contrabajo en la San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Kantuta Concerts Op. 4 is now accepting applications from CLASSICAL SINGERS of all voice types for a fully produced New York City recital debut at Merkin Hall.

The 2027 edition will feature an art song recital, providing one outstanding singer of Bolivian background with the opportunity to present a solo program in one of New York City’s premier concert venues. Travel, lodging, and production expenses are fully covered.
