Cross Cultural Community Services

Cross Cultural Community Services At CCCS our mission is to promote equitable opportunities for societal inclusion and advancement of diverse communities through education and advocacy

Cross Cultural Community Services is a non-profit organization run and owned by three women of color who have worked together for over 15 years conducting trainings to community members and organizations on cultural differences, US customs and norms and policies. Abeir, Deqa and Regina have vast knowledge and expertise about the refugee, immigrant and POC experience. They are strong advocates for

social justice, policy and system change so disenfranchised persons are afforded fair and equitable treatment. Before becoming an official 501(c)3 organization, they owned and operated Cross Cultural Consulting Group, a corporation that also conducted training on cultural humility and equity.

📣 We’re celebrating big news!
Our co-founder, Deqa Dhalac, has been honored with the 2025 Community Trailblazer Award by The Third Place - Maine. 🌟

From her beginnings in Somalia to making history as the first Somali-American mayor in the U.S., and now serving in the Maine House of Representatives, Deqa has always led with courage, compassion, and vision.

At CCCS, she has guided schools, nonprofits, and government agencies to embed equity into policies and practice—changing systems while empowering communities.

Her leadership is grounded in Ubuntu — “I am because we all are.” 💛

Join us in congratulating Deqa for this well-deserved honor! 👏
