Created in 1951, TCMHS was the first Federally-Qualified Community Mental Health Center in New England. TCMHS’s mission offers hope and healing to the people of Maine by providing trauma-informed, integrated services that promote whole health and wellness. Our vision is for “Healthy communities, inclusive and respectful of all.” A Council on Accreditation accredited organization, TCMHS provides evidence-based mental health, substance use, and intellectual disabilities services that are culturally and linguistically competent to almost 5,000 thousands of individuals annually across our service area. In a seven county area across Southwestern Maine with outpatient, day treatment, and supported housing locations in Lewiston, Oxford, Bridgton, Farmington, Rumford, Sabattus, and Lisbon, TCMHS serves people of all ages with a broad spectrum services. Our services are guided by evidence-based treatments, programs, and supports for mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual disabilities, including specialized evidence-based treatments for trauma, outpatient therapy, housing, peer wellness and recovery services, behavioral health home and opioid health home programming, integrated primary care, and more.
