Join the Maine Island Trail Association for an evening with Luc Milam of on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at in Portland! This event is free, but please RSVP using the 🔗 in bio.

We will gather at the brewery from 5-6:30 p.m. (presentation begins at 5:30 p.m.) to hear from Luc as he shares stories and images from a summer spent along the Maine Island Trail aboard his 28-foot wooden sailboat, Holiday. He will also share a first glance of his upcoming short film with .kaneb that focuses on his adventures and experiences had while sailing the Maine coast.

From Luc: “I’ve only been looking after Holiday for three of her 74 years afloat, but I’d be surprised if she’s ever had a better summer — and I know I sure haven’t. We owe so much to the Maine Island Trail for giving us endless adventure and a real sense of purpose out here. We made a film about this summer’s journey and the lessons this place, its people, and this incredible boat have taught me about the beauty and fulfillment of a life of stewardship. I feel so lucky to have stumbled into this life and am grateful for the chance to help others discover the Trail, the magic it holds, and the joy that comes from caring for it.”

MITA staff will be on hand with all sorts of goodies from the MITA Gear Shop, and to get you signed up for membership if you haven’t joined yet for 2026! We can’t wait to see you there.

Anywhere else in Portland where you can get oysters, beers, and learned up on something for just $10 next Thursday? Didn’t think so.

Join us next Thursday, May 22 from 6-8pm at our headquarters in Portland (100 Kensington Street) for a presentation from Trixie Betz of . Trixie will cover the ins and outs of Maine’s diverse aquaculture sector, and talk about what users of the Maine Island Trail can expect to see of it out there on the Trail. If you’ve ever been curious to know what those oyster farms are all about or why you might see a boat haul up a huge rope covered in seaweed, then come over to our place and enjoy an evening with us! Tickets are just $10, 🔗 in bio.

A big shoutout to for providing us with delicious oysters to enjoy out on the deck, for additional goodies from the ocean, and for keeping the Maine Island Trail Ale flowing.
