Nocturne: Art at Night is an annual festival bringing art and energy to the streets of Halifax. You are invited to participate in a new creative experience that showcases and celebrates the arts community in Halifax. Note: Nocturne: Art at Night cherche à offrir plus services en français. 📢 CALL FOR PLASTIC for 'held (in)---tension', by Gabe Moore ()

Saturday, October 17th: participants are invited to bring plastic items to take part in an evening of experimental noise making, as part of held (in)---tension, an interactive audio installation by Gabe Moore, taking place at 1660 Hollis Street from 6-12AM.

🗓️ Saturday, October 17, 6PM - Midnight

held (in)---tension is an interactive audio installation using the city's physical structure as an opportunity for embodied play. Through collaborative, textural noise-making participants are invited to create vibrations using their body, breath, and voice.

🇫🇷 FRENCH LANGUAGE NOC-TOUR! Presented by Alliance Française, with support from Francofest.

Alliance Française engagement and belonging officer Sophie Pilipczuk and volunteer Ryan (FrancoFest) invite you to discover and talk about the following artists works in this years French Noc-Tour:

Jacinte Armstrong, OSO Planning + Design, Samuel Charrois, Parumveer Walia, Zongua Ai, and Mocean Dance

French with a touch of English as needed

TOUR OVERVIEW:
Start Point: Grand Parade (1770 Barrington St)
Distance: 800 m (Approximately 12 minutes of walking time)
Tour Start Time: 7:00 PM

202: InterCHANGE Outdoor Gallery, IOTA
215: Francofest présente Depuis ce temps là (contes et légendes du Québec), Samuel Charrois

Following the above projects, you are also invited to see a performance of Flow, by Mocean Dance at 9PM, catch Ferry-Oke* to Dartmouth, or continue exploring along the waterfront!

📍You can pick one up at the Nocturne Pop Can Hub, located on the Halifax Waterfront, in between the Salt Yard and Foundation Wharf. While supplies last.

Pop Can Opening Hours:
Thursday, October 15th: 12:00 - 6:00pm
Friday, October 16th: 2:00 - 6:00pm
Saturday, October 17th: 12:00 pm - midnight

✨ This Saturday, October 17th is the night you've been waiting for: Nocturne's Signature Art-at-Night Experience! ✨

From 6PM-Midnight! Nocturne: Embodied City brings you 80+ art-after-dark activations in Halifax’s Downtown, Waterfront, North End, Spring Garden & Universities district, and Downtown Dartmouth.

Please note that some projects have slight schedule variations and set performance times. Check nocturnehalifax.ca for the most up-to-date project schedules, or pick up a festival guide!

Join us at Wonder’neath’s Open Studio to map out your Nocturne route on your own screenprinted map through stitching and beading (and other kid friendly methods). Mark the places and events that intrigue you and let your map guide you on your nocturnal travels through the city.
