Thank you to everyone who joined us for Part One of The History of Western Body Ideals on Monday evening. We’re already looking forward to continuing the conversation in Part Two!

In this free virtual workshop, Heather Leblanc, MSW, RSW, will explore how body ideals evolved from the Roaring 20s to the present day and how media, culture, politics, and systems of power continue to shape the way we see ourselves and others.

Together, we’ll unpack the connections between body ideals, diet culture, racism, sexism, and anti-fat bias, while exploring how understanding this history can support healing and challenge harmful narratives.

Missed Part One? You’re still very welcome to join us for Part Two.

To the mothers and caregivers supporting someone living with an eating disorder: we see you.

Caring for someone through recovery can be exhausting, emotional, and isolating at times. Our Family & Friends Peer Support group offers connection, understanding, and support from people who get it.

And to those parenting while navigating their own relationship with food, body, or exercise, you deserve support too.

Whether through our 18+ Peer Support group, 40+ Peer Support group, or Family & Friends program, we believe no one should have to navigate this alone.

This Mother’s Day, we honour the strength it takes to care for yourself and others. 🧡

We believe recovery is not meant to happen in isolation. It grows through shared experiences, compassionate spaces, and the courage to reach out.

This year's Mental Health Week theme, "Come Together," feels especially meaningful as our organization settles into its new space in Halifax’s North End. The Eating Disorders Nova Scotia house is a place where people can gather, feel seen, and support one another through our in-person peer support group, clinician-led groups, and programs like restorative yoga and supper club.

We also stay connected with folks across the country through our peer support program, Body Peace Canada.

This week and every week, we invite you to "come together" with us. 🧡
