Happy National Wildlife Day! 🌳🐇

As rabbit people, we love seeing our bunnies' wild cousins thrive outdoors!

However, it's important to remember their needs differ greatly from the rabbits' in our homes. For that reason, being able to distinguish between an abandoned domesticated bunny and a wild rabbit is absolutely essential.

💞 Double the Binkies, Double the Love: Meet Sisters Peace & Paz!

If you are looking for a pair of sweet, silly, and absolutely gorgeous additions to your family, look no further. Peace and Paz are a bonded pair of sister bunnies who bring twice the joy and double the entertainment wherever they go.

These girls do everything with a bit of dramatic flair. They absolutely love to binky when they are excited, and they love to top off a good playtime session with a dramatic, full-body flop onto the floor. They also have a hilarious signature move: whenever they see their favorite treats or fresh hay coming, they will honk with pure happiness and stand tall on their hind legs - especially if you talk to them in a fun cute voice!

Peace and Paz are the definition of "besties." They love to snuggle close, groom one another, and snooze side-by-side. However, they also respect each other's boundaries and will occasionally take some solo time on opposite sides of their space. They have incredibly sweet, inquisitive little faces that will instantly melt your heart.

The girls have great litter box habits! They would thrive as free-roaming house rabbits. Just be sure to do some standard bunny-proofing, as they have been known to test out a baseboard or two with their teeth when unsupervised.

Peace and Paz are currently living in a home with teenagers and small dogs. While they are a tad shy at first around their furry canine roommates, they are very curious and adjust well. They would do wonderfully in a gentle home with older kids or teenagers who can appreciate their silly routines.

One thing you should know about Paloma? Her tale has been full of the unexpected. In her relatively short life, Paloma has lived as a stray, given birth to a litter of kits, and formed a truly remarkable pair bond.

Although Paloma’s past has had its twists and turns, she melted RA Volunteer Dana Coleman’s heart right away. Learn more about the adoption journey they took together in our most recent blog!

Meet Lapé 🐛🌟📚 Your Gentle Little Bookworm

Say hello to Lapé, a sweet young gentlebun from our Peace Litter, born to Mama Paloma in January 2026.

Lapé is already checking all the boxes for a wonderful house bunny: he is neutered, vaccinated against RHDV2, litter trained, neat, and tidy. And while he’s still a youth learning all about the joys of house-bunny life, he’s proving to be a delightful little companion with plenty of personality.

Lapé loves to explore, investigate his surroundings, and play a very serious game of peekaboo. He’s curious, playful, and enjoys being part of the action... especially when snacks are involved!

Like most bunnies, Lapé isn’t a fan of being picked up, but he’ll happily spend time with you on his own terms. His ideal afternoon might involve sharing a snack, hanging out nearby, and reading a good book together.

With his gentle nature and youthful curiosity, Lapé is ready to find a family who will give him the time and patience to keep learning, growing, and becoming the best house bunny he can be.

If you’re looking for a sweet, tidy, playful little companion with a gentle heart, Lapé might be your perfect match!

Meet Candy! 🍭

Candy is a high-energy bun who loves interacting with people and is passionate about food. He knows when it’s mealtime and runs laps while his foster parent scoops his food (often including some impatient thumps).

Candy loves being petted almost more than he loves being fed. He will run up for pets anytime someone passes by and once you start, he won’t want you to stop! This soft and fluffy little guy is putty in your hands, especially when you’re petting his head and ears. Candy’s passion for food and pets sometimes results in nipping, although this behavior is improving with time and after being neutered.

This confident and adventurous bun enjoys exploring outside of his pen with supervision to ensure he doesn’t sample your walls or carpet. He’s easily redirected when this behavior starts, and his wild binkies and zoomies outside of his pen are certainly worth experiencing.

Candy has always used his litter box perfectly and is tidy with his hay. When he’s not begging for food and pets, he’s taking dramatic naps flopped on his side and looking adorable. His unique black and white markings and helicopter ears give him so much personality. You have to meet him to experience his wild charm.

Candy has not been observed around kids or other pets yet, so we are unsure how he would do with other pets or with kids.

On Sunday, August 23, we will be at Sellwood Pet Supply offering deshedding & grooming services, nail trims, and scent gland cleanings.

We're also excited to announce that Spa Day at Sellwood will be continued led by Margy and Lyn!

They bring extensive grooming knowledge and are passionate about rabbit care and hygenie. ✂️🪮
