Meet Mezzy! This sweet pup is searching for her forever family and needs your help--can you please share this post? 🙏💙

This sweet young girl is an amazing dog and searching for her perfect forever family. She is about 45lbs. and we estimate she was born in early 2022. Originally from Todos Santos, Mexico Mezzy is being fostered in Portland, Oregon now and has learned so many amazing skills since arriving. She cannot wait to find her furever family and spend this fall falling in love with her new family.
Mezzy is the sweetest girl who enjoys making new friends on her daily walks. She is fully house trained and does well in a kennel when her foster family is gone. Currently she spends most of her days with her foster mom and her kiddos, playing in the garden and going on walks. Mezzy is great with kids and even has experience being around children as young as 1 year old. She loves to make new doggie friends and has lived with other dogs before. Mezzy rides well in the car and loves to go on new adventures, and is always down for a long walk or hike with her family. Making new memories and cuddling her people after a fun day of playing is Mezzy's dream life.

This evening a storm passed through La Paz flooding many areas of the city. 😭Including our shelter, for the first time in five years of operation. However, it was only the first row of kennels near the entry way luckily. All of our dogs are safe and moved, and a trench was quickly dug. However, more storms are coming this week and our homemade trench will only survive so much rain. ☔️
We have already moved of all the dogs to the main house, however to create a quick alternate space for thirty dogs to live we need supplies. 🔨 We are seeking out tarps, cement blocks, extra sand, and wood.
Our paws estimate we need about $250usd for a supply run in the next twenty four hours. 🐾 Or maybe some local friends in La Paz or the surrounding areas can donate supplies directly to our shelter.

In the video above our vet is hanging out with the Cowboy, the brown pup. Cowboy is available for adoption in the PNW or California. He is a super sweet boy who loves attention and going on long walks ❤️

Meet Bingo! This sweet boy was found severely injured in the streets of La Paz, Mexico in Spring of 2026. Bingo has now recovered from all his injuries and is in Portland, Oregon waiting for his perfect family to find him. We estimate this sweet boy was born in late 2024 or early 2025 and he currently weighs around 17 pounds. Bingo spent a few months at the shelter before heading to the PNW to find his forever home.

Our sweet Bingo was barley alive when we found him and his sister in the streets of La Paz earlier this spring. Bingo's eye needed removal and he had some wounds that needed care as well. After spending months recovering Bingo was cleared to travel to the Portland to find his new people. During recovery Bingo interacted with children, cats, and dogs of all sizes. During his stay in the PNW Bingo has learned a lot of house manners, he is house trained as well as kennel trained. He loves to play all day with other dogs, and we do not think a home with older pets who are easily annoyed would be a great fit. However, a family with cats, children, and activity would be the perfect fit for Bingo! He would also be a perfect fit for anyone who loves to walk a lot or wants a hiking buddy. This sweet boy has no long term medical issues, and has never let only having one eye slow him down. Bingo is a loving pup who is easily introduced to people and dogs, and he loves to cuddle on the couch with his foster mom. This playful boy is patiently waiting for his family to find him, and he is avaible for meet and greets in Portland, Oregon.

All of Saving Baja Paws dogs come with a fantastic flexible foster-to-adopt option. This is a unique opportunity that allows your family to make sure it a perfect match with your new pup.

Bingo's adoption fee for Oregon, Washington, or California is $450USD. This helps us cover some of his vet and care costs incurred in Mexico, and the transport fee to bring our pups over 1,500 miles to the PNW. All our dogs come spay or neutered, with all theirs shots for the year, and have had multiple blood tests done prior to entering the USA from Mexico.

Who remembers Zoey??? 🐕
She is our NYE puppy from 2024! She was tossed over the fence of our shelter the evening of NYE at just two months old. A few months later she was adopted in Bend, Oregon and has been living her best PNW since. 😍
Due to unfortunate circumstances with her adoptive family Zoey has returned to us and is seeking out a foster family. 🐾 She is friendly with other dogs big and small, kennel trained, house trained, and great with meeting new hooman friends ♥️ Zoey does struggle a bit with on the leash but she is working with our director and cannot wait to overcome her fears on leash and gain more confidence! 🙌

Zoey is seeking a long term foster in the PNW or California 🙏 our paws will supply you with food, toys, a GPS, and whatever else you need to make her stay comfortable. 🥰

Meet Cowboy! This sweet pup was rescued in Todos Santos, Mexico in 2025 from a farm along with 11 other puppies. We estimate this sweet boy was born in March of 2025, and he currently weighs around 35 pounds. Cowboy is patiently waiting for his forever family to find him, and is practicing all his new skills to show off when he finally does meet them!

Cowboy is a goofy love bug who loves to give his humans the funniest of looks! He loves to meet new volunteers and doggie friends and can be heavily persuaded to quickly become your best friend with some treats. Cowboy enjoys playing with all his doggie friends at the shelter, and gets along with both and male female pups. He also has experience with young children and has been walked by many different handlers throughout his time at our shelter. This funny boy is always down for an afternoon walk or pool time followed by some belly rubs and cuddles. Cowboy would be a great companion for any family looking to add a medium energy younger pup to their home. Cowboy is currently working on his sit, stay, and other skills at our shelter while he waits for his forever family to find him! So don't hesitate to apply today this adorable boy.

Meet Barbara! This sweet pup was surrendered to our team in La Paz, Mexico in late spring of 2026. 🐕We estimate this sweet gal was born in late 2019 and she currently weighs around 6 pounds. Barbara is patiently waiting in foster care in Portland, Oregon for her forever family to find her now after spending a few months at our shelter.🐾

Our sweet Barbara came to us as an owner surrender in the spring of 2026. Her family couldn't afford to keep her any longer and made the choice to turn her over to our team in La Paz.🐾 After spending a few months at the shelter Barbara made her way to Portland in August, and ever since has been stealing hearts and pets! This playful pup loves to hangout with her foster pupsiblings during the day and taking long couch naps after she has used all her energy. 🥰During her cuddle time she loves to curl up in a bed near her humans, or even better on her humans lap while she gets all the pets during her nap time. Barbara is fully kennel and house trained as well. She gets along with children, cats, and other dogs as well, though when she is adjusting to her new home she can be a little hand shy the first few days. Hiding and crouching away from her humans, however, she has never been aggressive and is not possessive of her family members in any way.💙 This sweet girl is still showing us her full bubbly personality- but funny, social, and playful are all words we would use to describe this adorable pup. Our team cannot wait to see Barbara thriving even more with her new forever family! She is patiently waiting for them to find her, and she is avaible for meet and greets in Portland, Oregon.🥰

All of Saving Baja Paws dogs come with a fantastic flexible foster-to-adopt option. This is a unique opportunity that allows your family to make sure it a perfect match with your new pup.

Barba's adoption fee for Oregon, Washington, or California is $350USD. This helps us cover most of her vet and care costs incurred in Mexico, and the transport fee to bring our pups over 1,500 miles to the PNW.

We are so excited to get a pupdate from Oddie! 🥹
This sweet boy was removed from a farm in Oregon last year and had so many health problems our team didn’t think he would survive 😞However, after six months in foster care, a million medicated baths, and multiple vet visits a week Oddie finally found his people in fall of 2025. 🐾♥️🙏
And he was just recently deemed healthy enough and cleared for an eye surgery he desperately needed. ♥️
These are his after surgery and groomed photos. He no longer needs eye medications and is living his best doggie life with his new family in the PNW 🐾♥️
Thank you to everyone who supported his journey last year 🙏🐕
