We’re rebranding! All content will still follow mental health and give tips, check-ins and resources but we’re making some changes while getting more involved in our in person community. Thanks for the understanding!

Happy pride month! This month we want to honor love but also create awareness on the startling statistics surrounding mental health in the LGBTQA+ community…

48% of LGBTQ+ youths reported engaging in self-harm in the past 12 months, including over 60% of transgender and nonbinary youths.

68% of LGBTQ+ youths reported symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder in the past two weeks, including more than 3 in 4 transgender and nonbinary youths.

1 in 3 LGBTQ+ youths reported that they had been physically threatened or harmed in their lifetime because of their LGBTQ+ identity.

“AAPI” (Asian American and Pacific Islanders) encompasses a wide range of countries, ethnicities, nationalities, and identities. Many different communities within AAPI label face their own unique challenges: from the trauma faced by those who survived wars in Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam; Japanese Americans who remember the internment camps of the WW2 era; or the anxiety felt by the children of first-generation immigrants to reconcile their cultural heritage with American life.

Roughly 30% of Americans have at some period in their lives suffered from an alcohol related disorder. Even more concerning, only 1 in 4 people with an alcohol dependence ever seek out professional treatment.

alcoholism affects so many people, it can be a rather sensitive topic to discuss with others. Still, beginning an open dialog about the dangers of alcohol dependence is the only way to bring the issue out of the shadows.

One of the most debilitating aspects of alcoholism is the feeling of being isolated from others, suffering in secret and without support.

It is important with this topic to have as much understanding as possible. It’s easy to judge from an outside view but alcohol can impact our mental health in more ways than we deserve.

Do not judge a stigma, be apart of the change by doing your part to support, educate and listen.
