It's time for the annual matching event! Starting tomorrow May 13 until May 19, donations made by customers to the Nourish Our Neighbors campaign at the New Seasons checkout will be matched by New Seasons up to $42,000.

Nourish Our Neighbors directly supports local organizations, including Our Streets, addressing food insecurity. Donations will be divided evenly amongst the participating organizations.

This is a great, easy way to support food access in our community. 🖤

Anthony has been volunteering with Our Streets since we were distributing meals out of carts in the Park Blocks of downtown Portland. He's shown up for community cleanups and for years now has supported us in the kitchen on an ongoing basis. On multiple occasions he's stayed past the end of his volunteer shift to help our kitchen team close down for the day.

Everyone who has known him has all the positive things to say. From our CEO, Buchi: "Anthony is one of our OG volunteers, been rocking with us since the early days. Real, consistent, always down to show up for the community. We appreciate everything he’s done for us."

Anthony is now moving out of Portland and we will definitely be feeling the little hole left behind. He's one of us, and we'll miss him dearly, but are so excited for him in his next chapter of life. 🖤

When Our Streets began initiating outreach for farm partnerships, connected with us to see how we could collaborate. As they've established their new farm in Corbett, they are now growing produce specifically for Our Streets' meal program. We now have radishes, herbs, and edible flowers to look forward to, as well as so much more on the horizon.

We're so grateful to The Community Ecology Center for the support they will be providing and are also incredibly inspired by the work they do. Whether it's growing food for organizations such as ours or providing education and a safe space for the youth, they're doing some amazing projects.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to see the farm and connect in person. They're still getting started, but we are so excited to see how the farm grows and prospers. 🖤

Water is a finite resource, and humans cannot survive without it. This Earth Day, we are talking about the current state of our global access to water, including Oregon's.

In Oregon, we have the privilege of living in a moderately wet climate. Globally, however, we are entering an international water crisis, and Oregon is already feeling the affects. As we enter a global water crisis, it is more important than ever to be considerate of how our water usage affects our local communities. 🖤

This Women's History Month, we're talking about the unique experience of women facing homelessness.

From the overrepresentation of women of color to the physical or sexual abuse a majority of unhoused women experience, women and gender diverse individuals face unique challenges.

A few local organizations specifically serving women and gender diverse individuals experiencing housing insecurity include Rahab's Sisters, Rose Haven, Blanchet House and Farm, and Raphael House of Portland 🖤

It’s been so much fun seeing everyone participate in this trend we simply could not resist joining in. With a team of 31 employees, these are just some of the staff members who help keep the ship running. 🖤

At a time when the world is full of daily extreme events, it's important to remember what is actively happening on our very own doorsteps. ICE remains a threatening presence in our community and shows no sign of going anywhere.

These are some of the local organizations continuing to support those affected by ICE and deserve your support as well:
Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition
Latino Network
Northwest Immigrant Rights Project
Oregon For All
