What an honor for our very own Culinary Director Caitlyn Tuttle to be one of the finalists for the Kaiser Permanente Community Health Impact Award as part of the EmpowHER Awards hosted by Portland Thorns FC and Portland Fire.

Alongside eight other women doing incredible work, Caitlyn was recognized for her great efforts in contributing to the health of our local community. Our meals make a unique impact thanks to her specialization in nutrition and recipe design, creating meals that are both high quality and nourishing for people in need.

Thank you Kaiser Permanente Northwest for recognizing the extraordinary work of all these amazing women. 🖤

When communities are overtaken by wildfires, the recovery process is near indefinite. For the Warm Springs Reservation, many have been evacuated as the Bench fire has burned through more than 60,000 acres, adding to the more than 2 million acres of Oregon destroyed by wildfires this year alone.

Supportive efforts include monetary donations for residents of the community, animal welfare, and donations for water or hygiene items.

Today is the last day to support Our Streets as part of a national movement with Albertsons Companies bringing nonprofits together around a shared mission of ending childhood hunger.

Every dollar we raise supports our mission to nourish our community and contributes to a collective $5 million goal to help more children and families access the food they need to thrive.

You can make your gift before the campaign ends here: https://ourstreets.org/contribute/ 🖤

The 4th of July celebrates the creation of the United States under the assertion that "all men are created equal." Yet equality and freedom for all has never truly existed.

Today we recognize that many in this country are not free, and are instead facing more severe oppression by the day.

We remember those who have fought for our freedom, and are in solidarity with those who have suffered at the hands of colonialism.

Portland contains its own rich history of its LGBTQ+ community. A documenter of this history is photographer Donna Pollach, a Portland le***an who spent decades capturing photos of the city's active LGBTQ+ community.

In 2024, the Oregon Historical Society digitized a large selection of her photos. These are some of those photos, including moments from Portland's first official Pride Day, the AIDS Memorial Quilt hosted at University of Portland, and all the tender moments in between. 🏳️‍🌈

It's time for the annual matching event! Starting tomorrow May 13 until May 19, donations made by customers to the Nourish Our Neighbors campaign at the New Seasons checkout will be matched by New Seasons up to $42,000.

Nourish Our Neighbors directly supports local organizations, including Our Streets, addressing food insecurity. Donations will be divided evenly amongst the participating organizations.

This is a great, easy way to support food access in our community. 🖤

Anthony has been volunteering with Our Streets since we were distributing meals out of carts in the Park Blocks of downtown Portland. He's shown up for community cleanups and for years now has supported us in the kitchen on an ongoing basis. On multiple occasions he's stayed past the end of his volunteer shift to help our kitchen team close down for the day.

Everyone who has known him has all the positive things to say. From our CEO, Buchi: "Anthony is one of our OG volunteers, been rocking with us since the early days. Real, consistent, always down to show up for the community. We appreciate everything he’s done for us."

Anthony is now moving out of Portland and we will definitely be feeling the little hole left behind. He's one of us, and we'll miss him dearly, but are so excited for him in his next chapter of life. 🖤
