Nancy, our 4 year old chi mix, came our way after being found stray with a broken pelvis after being hit by a car. Luckily the fracture was able to heal well with rest and after time recovering in her foster home, Nancy was bopping around like nothing ever happened and she was ready to find her own forever home!

Deborah and her family had lost their beloved dog to cancer and were ready to love a new pup. We’re so pleased that Nancy gets to be the recipient of that love! She gets to learn new skills, go on all the walks she wants, enjoy outings, and - when the weather gets cooler - snuggle up in her own special spot near the fireplace. Nancy loves to cuddle and dote on her people and we just know she couldn’t be happier doing that with her very own humans.

ADOPTED!

Daryl, now Vinny, our fluffy 4 year old pup, was found stray with a badly injured leg. The injury was old and Vinny had been living with a painful and useless leg for a while. We amputated his leg and now pain free, we started the search for his forever home.

Jenny and Maya had been on a search of their own for a while. They were looking for a pup to join their family and be a friend to their dog, former Stumpy, Billie Jean, and no one had quite been right until they met Vinny. We couldn’t be happier that he was a match! Vinny is enjoying playing in his backyard, going on adventure walks with his big sister and his humans, shadowing everyone in the house, and just being the sweet snuggler that he is in a home of his very own.

ADOPTED!

Lori, now Gloria, our 2 year old terrier mix came to us after being hit by a car while she was stray and wandering the streets. Her left hind femur came fully out of her hip socket and she was in severe discomfort. Thanks to the covering her care in its entirety, we were able to get her into surgery and physical therapy to set her up for a pain free future!

While she was recovering, a friend of Gloria’s foster parent met and fell in love with her, and they quickly applied to adopt. Emma and Gloria were a perfect match from day one and she was thrilled to go to her forever home when she was all healed up. She’s spending her time exploring her neighborhood, getting tons of snuggles, and leaving her past behind her for a wonderful future.

We’re heartbroken to share that Rory, our sweet old man, passed away suddenly this weekend from a suspected stroke. Although we only knew Rory for 6 weeks, we all loved him. His foster family completely doted on him. We did our best to keep him comfortable, even taking him to rehab and buying him a special boot for his severely deformed foot. 

From the first minute we picked Rory up at our local shelter and took him into our care, our hopes were high that after receiving the medical care he needed, we would find him a forever home. While it didn’t work out exactly as we so wanted, we are absolutely honored to have been his forever family at the end. 

To Rory’s fosters: thank you so much for loving Rory and every dog that comes through your door.

And to everyone who fosters and/or adopts senior dogs: 6 weeks is not nearly long enough to love a dog, we know. But it meant everything to a dog like Rory. 

Rory, we will miss your tap dances and your awooos. Rest easy, our friend.

The Refreshments, our chihuahua mix litter, were recently in for their 6-week check-ups and vaccines. Which means one thing: these Refreshments will be ready to be served, ahem, adopted NEXT WEEK after they are spayed and neutered this weekend!

If you’ve been on the lookout for a tiny canine companion, may we suggest you consider applying?

Tito (male) is an old soul trapped in a tiny puppy. He can’t decide if he likes snuggling or playing more.

Zuko (male) is equal parts adventurous and funny.

Bellini (female) may be the smallest, but don’t tell her that. She’s set on conquering the world with sass and playfulness.

Amaretto (female) loves life so much that you can literally see her smiling.

The puppies will likely be under 15 pounds fully grown; their mom (Marcie, soon to also be adoptable!) is only 10 pounds. By the time of their adoption, the puppies will have had 2 rounds of vaccines, been altered and be current on flea and heartworm preventatives. Their adoption fees are $500 each.

ADOPTED!

Hasbrowns, now Oscar, our 4 year old Shih Tzu mix came to us with skin and ear infections and some broke teeth. The poor guy! We quickly got to work clearing up the infections and giving him the full dental workup with extractions. We also diagnosed him with medially luxating patella, which may cause him some discomfort in the distant future, but certainly wouldn’t prevent him from finding his own forever family now!

Julie and Alan were looking for a second pup to join their family. They heard about Oscar through the grapevine and thought he might be a perfect match for them, their teenager, and their senior Shorkie pup. Everyone met up after Oscar was healed from his surgery and we’re thrilled that it was a match! He gets to explore his new neighborhood, play with his family, and join in on any adventures they go on. And always most importantly, gets tons of love and snuggles.

ADOPTED!

Shaz, now Olive, our 1 year old pittie was found stray as a puppy and was so scared at the shelter that she wouldn’t even walk. She was with us for a while building up her confidence and coming out of her shell. We quickly learned what a fantastic dog she is and, as soon as she was ready, we started looking for a home that would be gentle and patient with her.

Mark and Neelam already had a pittie named Eva and thought Olive might fit right into their family. When they met each other, Olive was quickly comfortable with the new humans and the two pups loved each other and were playing almost immediately. A match was made! Olive has a trainer for support if needed and a forever family dedicated to making sure that she’s happy and comfortable. Olive gets to explore her neighborhood, go on hikes, race around and play in the house and the yard, and of course, get all of the love and snuggles a pittie pup could hope for.

ADOPTED!

Zia, our sheppy mix puppy, had quite a long journey with us! We took her in to help with fractures on both of her shin bones but as they healed, she didn’t seem to get much better. We consulted with a specialist, who diagnosed her with severe hip dysplasia. Thankfully, covered her care in its entirety so we were able to have her hips surgically corrected!

After time recovering in her foster home, doing plenty of rehab, and patiently waiting for a perfect forever family to find her, Zia was adopted! Laura and Brandon saw Zia and thought she would be a good match for their pack and we’re so happy to share that she was. They love her and she loves her new humans and dog siblings! She gets to explore tons of outdoor space on her new farm home, play with her crew, and get all the love and attention she could hope for.

ADOPTED!

Gertie, our 5 year old pug, survived being stray and pregnant long enough to end up in the shelter, who reached out to us to give her a safe space to raise her puppy. Of course we said yes and when she was done raising her baby (and having a few broken teeth fixed and getting spayed) we started to search for her very own forever home.

Alycen was looking for a friendly pup to be able to take to work with her at her salon and we’re so pleased that Gertie was a match! Gertie is gentle and tolerant of all other animals, which is great for her new cat siblings. She gets all the attention and love she could possibly want while exploring her new world. Isn’t that all any of us could want??

Patrick, our 18 pound 4 month old puppy, is having a growth spurt. The growth has been primarily directed to the ear area. We can’t guarantee that the rest of Patrick’s body will catch up, but we did tell Patrick that it would. So, when you meet him, please don’t point out that he looks like a jack rabbit.

Patrick was found after having been hit by a car. He sustained a broken pelvis, so we took him in to give him time to heal. After weeks of rest, you’d never know Patrick had been injured. In fact, he’s quite the daredevil. If allowed, we suspect Patrick would take up base jumping (note: he’s not allowed). Patrick can now do all the things other puppies can do (not base jumping).

In his foster home, Patrick is learning the ropes. He’s crate trained and has given himself a strict bedtime of 9 pm. Patrick is potty trained and is learning what is a chew toy and what is NOT a chew toy. Smart and curious, Patrick loves to explore almost as much as he loves to cuddle and play.

Patrick is learning how to make friends with new people. He’s a little shy, but is coming out of his shell more every day. Once Patrick realizes a stranger has treats, they quickly become part of his inner circle. Patrick is good with other dogs and was recently the star of his puppy social class. We suspect a dog-savvy cat could also win Patrick over, as could kids older than 10.

Patrick is current on his flea and heartworm prevenatives and is up-to-date on his vaccines. Like all puppies, Patrick needs an adopter who will continue to work on his training and socialization (please, for the love of Dog, don’t apply for a puppy that you don’t plan to train). We suspect Patrick will be just shy of 40 pounds fully grown. His adoption fee is $350.
