Margo, our 9 year old pittie, is looking for her forever home in Portland, OR. She hasn’t had a single application, which is crazy since she’s pretty perfect. She loves people of all ages, prefers other laid back dogs, and is indifferent to cats.

Margo enjoys a long walk and long periods of eye contact with her humans. As the cooler weather moves in, she’s ready to be your snuggle partner and keep you warm and cozy.

ADOPTED!

Alanna, our 5 year old frenchie, found her way to us after her owner fell ill and could no longer care for her. Originally at a breeder where she had several litters, she was retired from motherhood, ready to be the main attraction in a forever home, we dutifully started the search.

Alyssa and her wife had experience with flat faced dogs and were looking for a bestie to join their family. Luckily Alanna was a match! She loves going on walks to explore the neighborhood, working on training and new skills, and getting to snuggle up with her people whenever she wants! Her family says that they couldn’t imagine life without her now, and that’s really our greatest hope for all of our Stumpies.

Hank Williams, our 9 week old pitty puppy, has been rehearsing around the clock for his upcoming gig. We don't blame him, as this gig is the most important one yet! He is hoping for a record deal. And by record deal, we mean a brand new home. ��

Hank and his siblings were pulled from a local shelter. A shelter is no place for a puppy or a country music star - the acoustics just aren't right. Hank is socialized to other dogs, kids and cats. He's incredibly sweet, cuddly and eager to learn. We're honestly shocked he's not been snatched up yet.

��Hank is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on his vaccines and preventatives. All puppies need vaccines every 3 weeks until they are 16 weeks old, so his adopters should make those veterinary appointments right away. Puppies are like country musicians - they need practice to be professionals.

Hank William's adopters will need to enroll him in classes and keep up with his training. ��We expect Hank Williams to be 50-70 pounds fully grown. As he is a pitty, applicants must own their own home or have written permission from a landlord to own a pit bull. His adoption fee is $400.��

Otter Pup, our 31 pound 5 month old puppy, is working his way through our internship program. Being an intern is a pretty cushy gig. Sure, Otter Pup doesn’t get paid, but he does get room and board and plenty of snacks. He’s ready to graduate and is seeking his residency program (aka his own family).

Found stray and injured, we suspect Otter Pup was hit by a car. He sustained a broken leg so we took him in from the shelter. Although very bad at dodging traffic, Otter Pup is excellent at healing, and now he’s ready to do all the same things other puppies can do.

At home, Otter Pup has been practicing being a dog. Potty training? B - so far but he’s trying. Crate training? A solid C+. Cuddling and friendliness is where Otter Pup excels. All attention is good attention in Otter Pup’s books, including baths. Otter Pup also is great on a leash and is very up for adventures around town.

Otter Pup is learning how to share toys and treats with other dogs and how to make new dog friends. He’s getting the hang of it! Like most 5 month old puppies, Otter Pup can be mischievous - he can open doors and cupboards and finds his own antics amusing. Interns aren’t expected to be experts in their field, so we’re giving Otter Pup some grace. He just needs to keep building his resume.

Otter Pup is current on his flea and heartworm preventatives. He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. We don’t know Otter Pup’s breed mix, but based on his current size, he’s expected to be about 50 pounds fully grown. His adoption fee is $300.

This Sunday is our annual dog costume contest! Are you and your pups ready to strut their stuff??

Join us at 🌴 THE BYE AND BYE 🌴 for a family friendly day of fun and fundraising to support our medical needs dog rescue.

The wonderful Kimberly Michelle Westwood will be performing and emceeing the red carpet for pups competing in three categories - best small dog costume, best large dog costume, and best human/dog pair costume!

This event is free to attend and the costume contest is $10 entry fee per pup.

We’ll start registering your pups at 2 and they’ll be walking down the red carpet by 3:30!

We’ll also have: 
🐾 Some of our adoptable and soon to be adoptable pups, ready to meet you! (Swipe to see who’s coming!)

Moose, our senior 18 pound chihuahua mix, is very happy it’s fall. To be fair, he was happy when it was late summer too. He was happy that time it rained and he’s happy to see the sun. You see, being happy is kind-of Moose’s thing. We can’t wait to see how thrilled he’ll be to meet his new family.

Found stray, Moose (like a lot of little dogs) had terrible dental disease. We took him in to address that so that his breath is as pleasant as he is. Although he lost quite a few molars, he’s recovered well and is back to tap-dancing for his treats. Moose also had untreated fleas and his skin had suffered because of it. With antibiotics, his hair grew back beautifully.

Described as “the easiest foster dog I have ever had”, Moose is great in the house. He’s quiet, tolerates/ignores cats, and loves other dogs. Moose is responsible enough to be left alone and is potty trained. However, he does need to go every few hours (he’s an older gentleman after all). Moose doesn’t pull on his leash and is excited to take walks.

The shelter guessed Moose to be about 15 years old. He’s not telling us, but Moose could be younger. He is very playful still and trots around after toys. Moose loves attention and is happy to curl up next to his person on the couch.

Moose is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives. Due to his sensitivity to fleas, Moose should be kept on year round preventatives. His adoption fee is $150.

Ron is one of the best guys we know and we’re truly shocked that he hasn’t been adopted yet. In fact, he’s had very little interest at all. What gives?

This 7ish year old 75 pound pittie is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives. He’s had normal senior blood work. We’ll send Ron’s adopter with several months worth of flea prevention and a good supply of NSAIDs for his arthritis.

Freya, our 3 year old Saint Bernard, is 103 pounds. This is 90 pounds heavier than the ideal lap dog, but don’t bother telling Freya that. She’s happiest when she’s as close to her people as possible - being a lap dog is simply a case of mind over matter.

Surrendered to the shelter when her owner died, we were asked to help because Freya had a sizable mass on her hip. We removed that mass (and cleaned up her teeth while we were at it) and discovered that it was a benign fatty tumor - cured with the removal. Freya is recovered from her procedure and has fresh breath; perfect for making out.

Freya is extremely friendly. She also is pretty demanding when it comes to asking for attention. Freya will push her big head into available hands until they succumb. When she’s not asking for attention, Freya is a couch potato. She is house trained, not destructive and will hold down the love seat until you get home.

Freya is good with cats and dogs, although she may be more indifferent to dogs than anything. If there is nothing to pull towards (other people to say hi to, dogs to say hi to), Freya is great on a leash. However, she does pull if she’s motivated. Her adopter should be prepared to do some training with her. Her adopter should also be prepared to handle the typical Saint Bernard stubborn streak. Good thing our Freya is already mostly perfect.

Freya is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is $350.
