ADOPTED!

Barbara, now Loki, our 3 year old husky mix came to us after she was found stray with a shoelace imbedded tightly around her neck. We happily took her in to give her the time and care she needed to recover from that deep wound. Once she was healed and ready to find her own forever home, we eagerly started the search.

We knew this sweet girl would make an amazing family but she wasn’t getting much adoption interest. But it’s like we always say…it only takes one perfect application and Loki finally got hers. Gina and Kyle were looking for a new canine bestie to join their family and we’re so pleased that Loki was a match. She took the first week in her new home to observe her new humans and their habits and then slipped right into her place with them. Loki gets to enjoy playing and cuddling up with her humans, exploring and adventuring with them, and just enjoying her best life.

Congratulations Loki! 🐾💙

Alanna, our 5 year old 25 pound Frenchie, can’t believe what humans do to their smiles. Veneers, bleach, braces?!? Look how perfect Alanna’s smile is. Sure, her teeth are in slightly different area codes, but they are proudly on display. Let’s give her a real reason to smile and find Alanna her own home.

We took in Alanna when her owner fell ill and could no longer care for her. She was originally at a breeders where she had several litters before she retired from motherhood. Since retiring, Alanna has been a very healthy and remarkably happy frenchie.

Alanna is a delightful houseguest. She is crate trained and potty trained. We would not say Alanna is quiet; she makes loud Frenchie snorts and squeals when her people come home until she’s reached her belly rub quota. Alanna has ignored the cats in her foster home and has been generally neutral with the dogs. However, while she was getting used to her new digs, Alanna did guard her people and her food from the other dogs. She’s better now, but we suspect Alanna would prefer to be the only dog or to live with a dog that is patient and mostly ignores her while she decompresses.

Alanna is fun to walk. She is excited to go and happily shows off her pearly whites to every person she passes. Alanna is not leash reactive and wants to befriend any dog she sees. Alanna is heartworm negative and she’s current on her flea and heartworm preventative. Her adoption fee is $400.

Have you been feeling self conscious about your teeth? Maybe you don’t smile as broadly as you should? Let Alanna be your inspiration! While you’re at it, apply to adopt on our website today! https://www.stumptownstrays.org/adoption-application 💙🐾

ADOPTED!

Scooter, now Cooper, our 4 year old chihuahua mix, came to us after being found stray with pneumonia, a terrible flea infestation, and several broken teeth. A lot for a little pup, but this sweet guy was a star as he spent time in his foster home recovering from his dental work, neuter, and illness. When he was ready to start the search for his forever family, we were raring to get looking.

We’re happy to share that Cooper found his own family with Shannon and her crew! He gets to spend his days exploring his home, going on super fun sniff walks, and getting all the cuddles he could possibly want. And frankly, getting the absolute most cuddles is Cooper’s top priority. We couldn’t be happier for this little guy!

Congratulations Cooper! 🐾💙

Sure, The Pitt may be on hiatus until next year (gasp), but you can still infuse a little drama into your life with one of the 9 week old chihuahua puppies named after our favorite characters. Get the attending, these puppies need snuggles and their own families STAT!

Abbot, our boy puppy, is curious with an adorable shy side. He has already mastered wind sprints, zoomies and fetch. Abbot is affectionate and loves to cuddle up under his person’s chin. Considering these puppies will be under 10 pounds fully grown, he should fit under any chin for years to come.

Perlah is the tiniest, but she is a formidable spirit. She is inquisitive, courageous, and energetic. When she’s done counting her steps for the day, Perlah loves to gaze into her person’s eyes from their lap.

Mel is our social butterfly. She is devoted, lovey, flirtatious and sweet.

All of the puppies have been spayed/neutered and are current on their vaccines and flea/heartworm preventatives. They have been dewormed and microchipped. Each pup’s adoption fee is $500.

All puppies need vaccines every 3 weeks until they are 16 weeks old. All puppies also need training and socialization. The adopter should be prepared to sign up for puppy kindergarten and obedience classes. You don’t become a world class doctor (ahem, dog) without a lot of school!

Baby Jane Doe isn’t the only one in need of a safe place to call home. Abbot, Perlah, and Mel are ready for theirs too! Apply to adopt on our website today! https://www.stumptownstrays.org/adoption-application 💙🐾

Shaz, our 9 month old 42 pound pittie pup is still searching for her forever home. She is truly going to be the love of someone’s life; she just needs to find that person!!

Shaz struggles with first impressions. Wary of strangers, she can be awkward and shy. Fast forward thirty minutes though, and she is your best friend. Once you’re in, Shaz loves hard. Like most of us, she’s easy to win over with cheese.

Shaz is a great house guest. She is crate and potty trained, does well when left alone, and is quiet. Shaz is perfect with other dogs, both large and small. Shaz has also been respectful of cats (mostly observing them from a distance). Her hobbies include stick destruction, full body hugs, and playing with her housemates. Out and about, Shaz is great on a leash and is contemplative and not reactive.

Like a lot of pitties, Shaz has a loud bark. She will bark at new people coming into her space until she’s sure they are safe. Although not at all aggressive, the bark may be alarming to children, so we don’t recommend little kids in her home. Shaz makes friends easily with patience and treats, but we suspect Shaz would be stressed out in a house with a lot of strangers coming and going. We started Shaz on Prozac to help with her fear, and it’s been helping. This medication is cheap and we recommend Shaz continue it for at least 6 months. As we always say, there’s no shame in needing a little pharmaceutical help.

Shaz thrives with positive reinforcement and loves to be told she’s doing things the right way. She needs to live with someone as gentle as she is who will let her go at her own speed. We also think she would do best in a home with another confident dog or have access to dog playmates.

Shaz is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is $250. Due to her breed, she must be adopted by a home-owner or someone with written permission from their landlord.

She’s ready for you now so apply to adopt on our website today! https://www.stumptownstrays.org/adoption-application 💙🐾

ADOPTED!

Maybelline, our 1 year old bully mix, came our way because she was extra snorty and having a hard time breathing. Thanks to the for covering her care in its entirety, we were able to get her into a specialist who diagnosed and surgically repaired her elongated soft palate. Feeling better and breathing easier, she was ready to move on from her past and find her future with a forever home of her own.

Tanya sadly lost her beloved 14 year old pup and she (and her dog, Radar!) were looking for another best friend to love and give a great home to. Maybelline struggles with separation anxiety and being alone. She needed some extra care which her new human was happy to provide with continued training and medication support. Maybelline, much to her delight, also gets to go to work with Tanya and be as close to her as possible as often as possible! With her new canine brother she gets to explore the neighborhood, hike in the mountains, play in the sand on the coast, and snuggle as much as she wants. We couldn’t be happier for this special pup.

Congratulations Maybelline! 🐾💙

ADOPTED!

Benjamin, our 5 year old poodle-y mix pup, came to us with ligament damage in both of his knees that was causing arthritis and chronic pain. Luckily, was able to step in and cover the cost of the bilateral TPLO surgery he needed! After surgery and time recovering and rehab, he was ready to find his very own forever home.

Cole and his partner were looking to add a pup to their family and we’re happy to share that Benjamin was the perfect fit! He gets to continue his strength training in his new home along with exploring his new neighborhood, playing, adventuring, and getting all the cuddles this snuggle loving pup could hope for. We couldn’t be more pleased for him!

Congratulations Benjamin! 🐾💙

The Pitt Crew, our 6-week-old chihuahuas, aren't actually medical professionals, but they play them on TV. Which means they have the cure for what ails you! As long as what ails you is "Severe Lack of Puppy Syndrome".

"The Pitt" may not be back until next year, but Mel, Robby, Mohan, Perlah and Abbot will be ready for their new homes in a couple of weeks. If you've been suffering from Severe Lack of Puppy Syndrome, apply now for the cure on our website. Side effects include sleepless nights, tiny puncture wounds, difficulty concentrating and random squealing of joy (coming from you, of course.) 💙🐾

Collin, our 3 year old pocket pittie, is still looking for his very own forever home!

This tripod cutie LIVES for affection. He recently went to a foster meet up and did fantastic with all the people and other animals. He’s still very puppy like, but if you’re looking for a bestie who wants to learn and accompany you to all the fun bar patios as we slide into the sunny summer months, Collin may just be your boy!

He came to us after sustaining a badly fractured rear leg and is now thriving as a tripod dog. Collin is getting more and more confident the stronger he gets. He loves running about and exploring, sniffing his way around everywhere.

In the house, he’s calm and good at entertaining himself with toys when he’s not trying to crawl into a warm lap to cuddle. Crates stress him out, but he hasn’t been destructive in the house when left alone.

He’s honestly just a Very Good Boy and is absolutely going to be the love of someone’s life. If he looks like yours, you should hurry and apply because he’s waiting for you!

You can learn more about him and apply to adopt on our website! https://www.stumptownstrays.org/dogs/collin 💙🐾

Nancy, our 4 year old 10 pound chihuahua mix, loves bed time. Her favorite spot is under the covers, curled tightly against her person’s feet. Before it’s time to sleep, Nancy enjoys being read to. That is, as long it’s a story with a happy ending.

Found stray and injured, we took Nancy in to help her heal. She had sustained a broken pelvis after being hit by a car. Although the fracture could not be surgically repaired, Nancy has recovered well with rest, and she now moves around like nothing happened.

Nancy’s foster describes her as extremely charming. She is quiet, crate trained and good with both dogs and cats. When Nancy needs to go outside, she makes a series of funny noises to get her foster’s attention. Generally, Nancy is an attentive, expressive dog who loves to cuddle. She self entertains with little squeaky toys and is great on a leash when it’s time for a walk.

Nancy is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives. During her spay, we also cleaned Nancy’s teeth, so she also comes with fresh breath. Her adoption fee is $350.

Have room in the bed for Nancy? If so, our girl is looking for a happy ending of her own. Apply to adopt on our website! https://www.stumptownstrays.org/adoption-application 💙🐾
