We’d love to hear from you! We’re hiring a Youth Programs Manager to lead our K-8 summer camps, in-school, and after-school programs here in Portland.

You’ll help shape what kids experience in our classrooms: writing and refining hands-on STEAM curriculum, building and supporting a strong team of educators, and making sure each program serves kids and families across our community.

Last Saturday, 19 young makers from grades 1 through 12 set up shop at the University of Portland for our first-ever Makers Market! They designed it, built it, painted it, crocheted it, drew it, bedazzled it, priced it, and sold it themselves.

Happy First Day of Fall! 🍂

Today is the when the sun passes directly over the equator, making day and night nearly equal in length and marking the first day of fall.

Cool fact: A unique side effect of this phenomenon is that objects on the equator cast zero vertical shadows at noon! It's the global equivalent of the famous “no shadow day” (Lāhainā Noon) in Hawaiʻi.

In the Portland area, there aren't a lot of options for high schoolers to engage in fun, career-connected activities outside of school, and that's where Days Off comes in.

Days Off isn't a camp. It's a career experience, held on select no-school days throughout the year. We partner with Portland STEAM-driven organizations like Nike, Jaguar Land Rover, OHSU, and more.

This fall, that means a day at the Food Innovation Center in partnership with Tillamook, exploring careers in food science; behind-the-scenes tours, hands-on workshops, and Q&As with real professionals. Cost-assistance is available!
