Looking forward to an inspiring and thoughtful conversation.

Financial Literacy Month may be coming to a close, but the momentum around financial education is only growing.

Across the country, more states are requiring personal finance education before graduation—recognizing that students deserve to enter adulthood with real-world money skills.

At Financial Beginnings, we help educators meet this moment through our free Educator Training Center, with tools, curriculum, and classroom-ready resources designed to make implementation easier.

The month may end. The mission continues.

As Financial Literacy Month winds down, we’re proud to recognize the volunteers who help make financial education possible.

Today, we’re highlighting Rebecca McKinsey, who turned her own financial learning journey into a passion for helping others.

“It helped me realize I had control of my finances. I had options—and the ability to change where I was headed.”

Rebecca has already taught 12 classes, reached 118 participants, and continues to help others build confidence with money.

We’re grateful for volunteers like Rebecca who help turn financial education into opportunity.

As Financial Literacy Month comes to a close, we’re spending the final four days highlighting the volunteers who help make financial education possible.

Today, we’re proud to recognize James Harker, who began volunteering after retirement to help others build financial confidence and opportunity.

After teaching at a downtown shelter, James stayed after class to help one participant navigate debt consolidation and loan forgiveness options.

“I could tangibly sense a relief in his eyes and a lifting of his shoulders … a light at the end of a tough tunnel.”

We’re grateful for volunteers like James who help turn financial education into real-life impact—one conversation at a time.
