โItโs On Youโ starts with a simple idea: if we want to see something different in our community, we all have a part in making it happen.
Thatโs what our volunteers did on August 22. They showed up, gave their time, and helped create a space where Portlandโs kids and families could feel welcomed, supported, and ready to take on the school year.
The thing about community impact is that you donโt always get to see where your contribution ends up. You may never know what that new pair of sneakers meant to a kid who was nervous about their first day. You may never know how much lighter a parent felt knowing
their child had a backpack, supplies, and what they needed to walk into that classroom feeling prepared. You may never know how much it meant for a family to look around and realize, My community showed up for me.
But thatโs the beauty of showing up. You donโt have to know exactly where your contribution will land to know that it matters. Because sometimes impact looks like a big moment. And sometimes it looks like giving a kid
one more reason to walk through those school doors with their head held a little higher.
Itโs On You. Itโs On Us.
Thank you to every volunteer, vendor, partner, donor, and community member who chose to be part of the impact. You helped create something that reaches a lot further than one day, and weโre grateful for every person who showed up.
And if youโre wondering what showing up can look like for you, it can be as simple as sharing this post, donating, volunteering, or becoming a sponsor. Your part might feel small to you, but it could mean a lot to a family and the next family we impact might be because you did.
