Re-Sharing this just wanting to thank our friends at Epilepsy Alliance America for all their amazing support! So excited to work with you guys again soon!

Today, on World Theater Day, we'd like to highlight our friends at EpiArts Alliance, who are dedicated to creating a world where performers with epilepsy and photosensitivity are celebrated, supported, and empowered to showcase their talents without limitations. Check out their website for more information and resources about enjoying theatrical performances safely and inclusively!

We’re so excited that our community is growing, this is one of many!!

Our upcoming production of American Idiot uses extensive strobe lighting effects, which we realize can be a concern for some of our audience members. To support our patrons with light sensitivity, we are designating Friday, May 15 as a sensory-friendly performance. During this performance, all strobe effects will be fully removed.

If you would like to switch into (or out of) this performance, please contact our Box Office and Jeffrey will be able to assist you (518.730.7370).

Thank you for helping us create a theater environment where everyone feels welcome and safe!

One of my favorite parts of our booth this year was a simple set of three prompts:

“What activities or experiences do you feel excluded from because of epilepsy?”

People wrote their answers on sticky notes and added them to the board. By the end, we had almost three full boards filled.

We could have easily filled more if people felt fully comfortable sharing.

It was a reminder of how important that question really is—not just for those with an epilepsy diagnosis, but for the people around them too. Epilepsy impacts the whole family, and I’ve been learning that more and more as I’ve gotten older.

Before we share more of what was written, I’d love to open it up here:
comment or DM us what you would put on a sticky note, and we’ll add it to the board.

Sharing things like this matters more than people realize. That board brought a lot of tears, and a lot of connection too.

Days like this stay with you. đź’ś
So many stories, so many voices, so much connection at the epilepsy expo.
Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. Can’t wait to share our individual story tellers! Stay tuned.

I’m still processing how special this week was 💜✨

Being at Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disney World as EpiArts Alliance meant more to me than I can fully put into words. Getting to meet so many of you, hear your stories, and share what we’re building… it reminded me why I started this in the first place.

There’s something really powerful about being surrounded by people who just get it. Artists, dreamers, allies, fighters—people who refuse to let epilepsy take away what they love.

This week filled my heart in a way I didn’t even realize I needed. And it made me even more sure that this community matters.

If you came up to us, talked with me, or even just followed along from afar—thank you. Truly.

We’re just getting started 💜

We know we’ve been a little MIA lately, and we’re so grateful for your patience 💜 Luckily, we’ve had the amazing helping keep our stories alive and answering DMs!

The past couple of months have been a whirlwind—my family and I closed a business we’ve run for over a decade, moved across the country, I underwent ankle surgery on both feet, and we’re blessed to have a new family member on the way!

While it’s been a big season of transition, we are excited for what’s ahead. Without the daily demands of running a dance studio, my mom and I are thrilled to put more energy into growing EpiArts Alliance. We can’t wait to reconnect with our Purple Team members, dream about what’s next, and continue building this community together. 💜✨

Thank you for sticking with us—we’re just getting started! -Anzli
