America Needs You (ANY) fights for economic mobility for ambitious, first-generation college students. We do this by providing transformative mentorship and intensive career development. We are launching our first Partner Program in California in June 2016. We have achieved remarkable growth in the past 5 years by mobilizing hundreds of volunteers to increase the number of students we serve annually from 50 to over 300. We’re looking for a Career Success Manager to join our New York team and help deliver the ANY Fellows Program, supporting ambitious, first-generation college students as they navigate college and prepare to launch their careers.
In this role, you will:

• Coach and support Fellows on their career and professional development
• Lead engaging workshops alongside Fellows and Mentor Coaches
• Build relationships with college and university partners across the region
• Help connect Fellows to internships, career opportunities, and professional networks

Every year, our staff from NY, NJ, and IL come together for a two-day staff summit — a special opportunity to step away from our screens, share the same space, and connect in person.

This year’s summit at Fordham University was especially meaningful as we introduced new organizational values we’ve spent the past year developing together. Through thoughtful conversations and interactive activities, we reflected on what those values mean to each of us and how they shape the way we work together to support first-generation college students.

A special thank you to bestselling author Chris Schembra for leading an inspiring session on the power of human connection and challenging us to think deeply about how we bring our values to life in our relationships, our teams, and our mission.

Since becoming a Mentor Coach, Shay has grown into a leader within our community. Despite balancing a full-time career and leading her own community-building initiative, she continues to make time to mentor because as a first-generation college graduate, she wanted to give back to students navigating the same journey she once did.

Shay’s commitment has extended far beyond mentoring. Since joining ANY, Shay has mentored a Fellow, shared her story as a keynote speaker at our matching ceremony, led workshops on the power of community, positivity, and mentorship, and recently joined our Illinois Associate Board.

Thank you, Shay, for your continued commitment to our Fellows and to the ANY community!

Your career journey can help shape someone else’s.

As an America Needs You Mentor Coach, you’ll support a first-generation college student as they build confidence, expand their professional network, and prepare for a successful career. No matter where you are in your career, your experience can make a lasting impact.

✔️ Approximately 4 hours per month
✔️ Grow as a mentor and leader with training and networking opportunties
✔️ Open to volunteers in New York, New Jersey, and Illinois

As we wrap up another incredible program year, we’re feeling grateful for every Fellow and Mentor Coach who made 2025–2026 so meaningful.
