Inspired by 三菜一湯 (3 Dishes, 1 Soup), 3 Dishes is bringing balanced Taiwanese lunchboxes to NYC. Each box features three veggie-forward sides and a healthy protein over a bed of rice.

One of our newest employer partners, has already hired graduates from our front of house and back of house programs! This summer, 3 Dishes is popping up at the Times Square Summer Market from June 26 through August 9, at the corner of 47th St and Broadway. They'll be serving Taiwanese homestyle bento boxes, pan-fried mini dumplings, and more!

Pilas Cafe is actually named after my nickname Pilas which my family gave me because of my boundless energy since it means batteries in spanish. We are delighted to welcome HBKi alumn Pilar Valdes as our Breadwinners Pitch Host!

Pilar started her entrepreneurial career at Hot Bread Kitchen Incubates in 2010 after co-founding her catering company, . In 2023, Pilar returned to Hot Bread Kitchen as a judge for our inaugural Proof Pitch Entrepreneur Showcase.

Born and raised in the tropical hearth of Manila, Philippines, Pilar is a home cook turned catering entrepreneur, private chef, recipe developer, and senior culinary contributor on .

She continues to share her food with millions. Pilar is the co-author of the New York Times bestselling Rebel Homemaker, and her upcoming solo cookbook, Shared Plates, will be published in the spring of 2027.

We’re grateful and excited to see Pilar take the stage and welcome a new cohort of entrepreneurs.
