Paint Your Canvas Empowering NYC’s youth through mentorship, legacy-building, and leadership. Home of the Luminary Initiative We are not building charity. Access to details here.

Paint Your Canvas (PYC) Foundation is a dynamic, New York City-based nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for at-risk children, youth, and families. We don’t just serve, we activate legacy, leadership, and self-mastery. At the heart of our work is the Luminary Initiative Empowerment Mentorship Program, a transformative model engineered to recalibrate futures, build generational wealth, and align youth with purpose, power, and possibility. Designed for youth ages 5–21, especially those navigating economic deserts, educational inequity, and systemic injustice, this program bridges mentorship, cultural alignment, and exposure to academics, arts, athletics, and STEAM. Through our fiscal sponsorship with Fractured Atlas, all donations are tax-deductible and managed with complete nonprofit transparency and compliance. We are building infrastructure. Stand with us as we shift the paradigm. https://fundraising.fracturedatlas.org/luminary-initiative/general_support
The Luminary Initiative is powered by Paint Your Canvas Foundation and is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of the Luminary Initiative must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Youth leadership isn't something that starts at age 25.

When we treat young people as capable contributors right now, their entire mindset changes. Through our Fall cohorts, we equip students with the tools to address their immediate realities and build real-world skills today.

Great mentorship isn't about control,it’s about clarity.

When experienced adults show up with humility and direct guidance, young people step into their authority faster. Our mentorship model is built on active listening, mutual respect and high expectations.

Opportunity shouldn't be a privilege reserved for a few neighborhoods.

When you break it down, youth empowerment comes down to three basic things: professional tools, active networks and psychological safety to create. That is the exact baseline we provide at Paint Your Canvas every day.

If you'd like to help us keep these doors open, every bit of support makes a difference: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/donate-to-make-a-difference-22407

A mission isn’t defined by a logo or a headline.

It’s defined by the standard we hold every single day. Whether our youth are behind a studio console or holding a tennis racket, our promise remains the same: real tools, unconditional support and safe spaces to grow. We’re here to build character, resilience and genuine leadership across NYC.

Theory gets you started, but hands-on ex*****on builds true confidence.

Inside Luminary Sound Lab, youth don't just observe. They operate professional equipment, test ideas and refine their technical craft with direct mentor guidance. We are creating an environment where mistakes are just steps toward mastery.

Every child naturally carries a spark of wonder. Our job is simply to give them a warm, safe space where that spark can shine.

At Paint Your Canvas, we don't push them into a mold. We listen to their curiosity, honor their imagination and let them take center stage in their own learning journey.

Thank you to every neighbor and supporter who makes these quiet, heartwarming moments possible for NYC children.
