At Louisville SHRM, wellness means creating workplaces where people and organizations can thrive, and Jamie Johnson brings that passion to her role as Director of Wellness.

By day, Jamie is an Employee Benefits Advisor at Houchens Insurance Group, where she helps organizations develop impactful benefits strategies that support their employees and business goals. Her work focuses on healthcare literacy, workforce wellbeing, cost containment, and building meaningful partnerships.

Jamie is also the Founder of LeadWell, a community dedicated to advancing women through meaningful conversations around work, wealth, wellness, and leadership. Through LeadWell, she creates opportunities for women to connect, learn, grow, and lead.

Jamie is a natural connector who believes some of the best solutions happen when we bring the right people together around a shared challenge.

Whether she is advising clients, moderating conversations, or collaborating with community partners, she leads with a desire to educate, inspire, and make a positive impact.

Outside of work, Jamie enjoys spending time with her husband and children, watching sports, and reading. 💙

⭐️Announcing the Inaugural LSHRM Starfish SHRM Certification Scholarship ⭐️

Louisville SHRM is proud to launch the inaugural LSHRM Starfish SHRM Certification Scholarship, a new initiative designed to help HR professionals take the next step toward earning their SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification. This scholarship reflects our commitment to supporting the growth, development, and success of current and future HR leaders.

Through this inaugural program, two scholarships of $650 each will be awarded to HR professionals who demonstrate financial need and a commitment to professional growth. Scholarship funds are applied directly toward SHRM Learning System materials and required certification resources.

Who Should Apply?
HR professionals who:
- Are pursuing SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
- Demonstrate financial need
- Are committed to advancing their HR knowledge and career development
Important Dates

Fall 2026 Certification Class Begins: September 22, 2026

Application Deadline: No later than 15 days before the class begins.

Scholarship Recipients Notified: At least two weeks before class starts.

Seeking Companies to Partner with UK Gatton College on a Strategic Talent Acquisition Advisory Project

The University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics is inviting companies to participate in a semester-long (two participation sessions) Talent Acquisition Advisory Project as part of our graduate-level Strategic Human Resource Management & Analytics (SHRMA) program.

What's in it for your organization:

- Fresh, research-based recommendations for your TA strategy — grounded in a rigorous Talent Acquisition Model covering workforce planning, sourcing, candidate experience, recruitment, assessment, hiring, and onboarding

- A graduate student team's dedicated analysis of your real hiring challenges, informed by current academic research and leading practitioner frameworks (HBR, McKinsey, Deloitte, and more)

- The chance to compare notes and network with other participating companies as you all think through TA priorities

- No cost, no confidential data required, and a light time commitment — mainly one working session with your team and a final presentation

What we're looking for:

- Organizations with 50+ employees, currently hiring or planning to hire

- A willingness to share non-confidential aspects of your business strategy and current TA practices

All participation is via Zoom: Wed., Nov. 18th (6:00 pm to 8:30 pm Eastern) and student presentations to companies on Wed, Dec 9th or Dec. 16th at 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

We welcome companies from any industry — the more variety, the richer the learning for everyone involved. We've been fortunate to partner with organizations like Lodge Cast Iron, Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Valvoline, Bullard, and Frito-Lay in past semesters, and we're excited to expand that group for Fall 2026.
