Today is Event Organizers Day! 💥

PW is always busy both behind and in front of the scenes. Expert at organizing just about everything, including gatherings (and studies and mission experiences, RED teams and advocacy work and ...) small and large, let's give thanks for the good work we've been called to do, and celebrate our calling to organize, plan and care for God's people and creation as articulated in our PW Purpose and in PW community.

This moment is ours to celebrate and reflect on everything PW organizes and accomplishes in our local churches and around the world. 💖

And on this day, Event Organizers Day, let's also lift in prayer the 2027 Churchwide Gathering Planning Team and all who are busy behind the scenes in planning (and planning to attend!) Come and hear the amazing story of one of our Thank Offering Recipients!

Environmental and human healing is being carried out in western Kenya by the African Inland Church. God’s Green Resourceful Earth, founded by Bishop Tom Ochuka, began as a small tree nursery and has now grown to several gardens and fields, and provides daily lunch along with agricultural education to over 2,000 students in the Kisumu area of Kenya.

This free one-hour webinar is hosted by Presbyterians for Earth Care!

Camp for ALL
Deerwood, Minnesota
$50,000

Clearwater Forest is a Presbyterian camp dedicated to creating life-changing, faith-centered experiences, but transportation barriers prevent many underserved populations from accessing these opportunities. The Thank Offering grant will purchase a bus to provide access across Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. This initiative will open the door for more inclusive participation, including new retreats for high-risk and low-income groups, ensuring the camp’s transformative impact for all.

In Rhonda Lee's blog for Lesson Four, "Living Freely and the Responsibility to Care," she writes:

"What happens when I insist on freedom to act as I choose, without fully considering my actions’ implications for other people? People living in a democratic society have certain freedoms to act as we choose, as long as our actions don’t hurt others; and yet, reasonable citizens of the same country often disagree about what limits might appropriately be placed on individual actions.

For Christians, two questions come up when we talk about freedom. If God has made us free in Jesus Christ, what were we freed for—for what purpose?

And, how do we exercise our freedom in Christ while caring for our fellow disciples, and for our other neighbors whom God also loves?

Maybe Paul’s debates with his Corinthian friends can help us think and pray through these questions faithfully together."

Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity puts God’s love into action through building homes, communities and hope. Through their Rural Home Repair program, people come together to improve houses so they are warm, safe and dry. By addressing critical repairs, lower-income families can focus on thriving instead of worrying about costly home issues. With the Thank Offering grant this vital program will expand across the entirety of Allegan County to help more families live in secure, decent homes.
