We deliver fun and inclusive community programmes called SportInspired Games. These bring together local businesses, sports clubs, schools and councils, inspiring new relationships, new opportunities and new skills. Imagine a world where every child is involved in community sport, all developing confidence and life-skills through this activity and leading happier, healthier lives as a result. Imagine us all living in communities, connected with energy and passion that nurture and support skills development through sport. A lot happens behind the scenes to bring a SportInspired festival together!

Weeks of planning go into coordinating schools, venues and sports providers, and rallying amazing volunteers. All so every child can experience the joy of sport and belonging!

What happens when 15 young leaders are given the opportunity to take on real responsibility at a festival for 243 children? 🏅

At a recent Hackney Festival, Young Leaders from The Urswick School played a leading role in making the day happen, working alongside volunteers to deliver activities and support younger participants. From dodgeball to boccia, they took ownership of activities, managed transitions, encouraged those who were less confident and stepped up to make decisions throughout the day.

It was a chance to experience what real leadership looks and feels like. The proof? Several have since joined their school's Sport Prefect programme, carrying it forward long after the whistle blew.

This summer, TJ Ossai from BFTTA came back to one of our B&D festivals with a story we didn’t expect to hear...
Years ago, TJ was the athletics sport provider at one of our festivals, introducing young people to the sport for the very first time.
Many went on to join his club and continued with the sport. Years later, some have represented Great Britain. 🇬🇧

Our focus has never been on competition. It’s about making sport fun, inclusive and helping young people find something they love. But sometimes, that first opportunity can open the door to something much bigger.

TJ came back to share the story with us, so we brought him and Felix, who helped deliver that original festival, back together to reflect on what happened next.

Always such a pleasure having The Outrunners at our SportInspired festivals 🤘💙 This time, we were in Hackney at Britannia Leisure Centre for our first festival back after the summer break!

Stanley brought amazing energy to his first festival with us. The kids trying their best and giving everything they’ve got (clearlyyy), teams cheering each other on, volunteers encouraging from the sidelines… and smiles everywhere 🙃🙃

Taking SportInspired international for the first time was a big moment for us, but what we’ll remember most is the energy and excitement of 210 children throwing themselves into the day 🥹

We’re so grateful to UBS for making the opportunity possible, and to the UBS volunteers who gave their time and energy on the day. A huge thank you as well to the children and teachers from the 7 schools who joined us, to everyone from Funda Afrika for their support, and to the brilliant sport providers who helped bring the festival to life!

Seeing what we believe in come to life in South Africa was incredibly special 🇿🇦💛

He fears spiders. He fears heights. But thankfully, he now likes olives. 😂🫒

That’s Harry.

We’re very lucky to have him in the SportInspired team. Passionate, enthusiastic, endlessly curious and always ready for the next adventure, Harry brings so much energy to everything he does, and it’s exactly why he fits so brilliantly into our team.

Alongside his work with SportInspired, Harry has also spent time working with the El Rio Foundation in Colombia, which supports around 600 local children through sport, psychosocial support and other activities.

El Rio was founded by Felix Sullivan, who is also a member of the SportInspired board, and Harry’s experiences there have given him some pretty amazing stories to tell.

We’re always a little gutted when Harry heads off on his next adventure, but we know we can’t be selfish and hog him all to ourselves! We have to share him with the rest of the world. 🌍

His enthusiasm is infectious, and that passion for people, sport and adventure is exactly what makes him such an inspiring person for the young people to be around.
