Healthcare workers are supposed to be protected under international law. So then why do first responders in the West Bank need to wear bulletproof vests and helmets?

Israeli forces and settlers are continuing to escalate their attacks on healthcare workers, with the number of attacks quadrupling in July alone.

Healthcare workers should never have to fear for their lives while trying to save other people’s lives.

The UK Government must take meaningful action to protect healthcare workers by:

🔴 Suspending all arms to Israel, including parts for F-35 fighter jets
🔴 Banning trade with illegal settlements
🔴 Suspending the UK-Israel trade agreement, until all violations of international law have ended
🔴 Holding all perpetrators to account

Across the occupied West Bank, rising Israeli state-backed settler violence and settlement expansion are making life increasingly dangerous and difficult for Palestinian communities.

This week families in the village of Qusra, near Nablus, have been forced from their homes after settlers cut off their water and power and blocked roads.

The new Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary have a choice:
Act now to prevent further atrocities - or continue the UK's complicity.

Since October 2023, MAP has supported over 16,000 cancer patients in Gaza.

Earlier this year, MAP supported the activation of cancer services in Shifa Hospital, enabling patients in the north of Gaza to receive treatment. Here, patients can access services including chemotherapy, palliative care, and mental health support for them and their families.

❌ Israel’s genocide in Gaza is still not over ❌

Over 1,254 Palestinians have been killed and 4,121 have been injured since the ceasefire agreement last October, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The expansion of the "Yellow Line" has forced the entire population into less than half of Gaza, and in extremely overcrowded conditions.

Israeli military attacks on Gaza’s healthcare facilities continue, including the reported targeting and destruction of medicine warehouses nearby Al Aqsa Hospital.

The UK government must put maximum pressure on Israel to bring a permanent end to the genocide, including by halting arms transfers and ensuring accountability.

State-backed settler violence in the West Bank is spiralling out of control.

1️⃣ On Thursday Israeli settlers set fire to farmland and attacked homes in the village of Beit Furik, near Nablus. Members of MAP’s mobile clinic team were trapped for hours.

2️⃣ On Saturday Israeli forces stormed Nablus Specialised Hospital.

"This was a clear and blatant attack on a hospital and a violation of the sanctity and sovereignty of healthcare facilities.

Healthcare facilities [in Palestine] should be treated with the same respect afforded to medical centres anywhere else in the world.” - Dr Ghassan Barakat, Director of Nablus Specialised Hospital.

3️⃣ On Sunday, it was reported that two women were forced to give birth inside ambulances after being unable to reach hospitals. Also today, a pregnant woman experienced a miscarriage after an ambulance was delayed at a checkpoint in Nablus.

🗣️ "When hospitals are stormed, ambulances are blocked, and healthcare workers are prevented from saving lives, the UK Government cannot wait until the West Bank reaches the point of no return.” - Aseel Baidoun, MAP’s Deputy Director of Advocacy and Campaigns.

The UK Government must:
🔴 Suspend all arms transfers to Israel.
🔴 Ban all trade with illegal settlements.
🔴 Suspend the UK-Israel Trade and Partnership Agreement until violations have ended.

Despite it being nine months since the ceasefire agreement, malnutrition remains widespread in Gaza.

Families are still struggling to afford basic food, and parents often reduce their own food intake so they can feed their children.

Across Gaza, MAP and our partners have screened thousands of people for signs of malnutrition. Spotting malnutrition early is critical. It means we can act fast, referring people for therapeutic food and treatment before their condition becomes life-threatening.

MAP has distributed over 400,000 nutrient supplements to address malnutrition during the first three months of 2026 alone.

In Gaza, Israel has systematically dismantled the health system while maintaining a near-total blockade, leaving civilians trapped amid urgent and immense humanitarian needs. Families are cut off from care, children are denied treatment, and an entire population is being pushed beyond the limits of survival.

In the occupied West Bank, escalating settler violence, which is enabled and protected by Israeli authorities, alongside sweeping military restrictions, continues to threaten lives and erase any sense of safety or dignity.

Andy Burnham's new Government must:
🔴 Suspend all arms transfers to Israel.

Haitham Al-Saqqa, a MAP Programme Officer in Gaza, set up Palestine's first national team for people of short stature.

Not only did Israel's genocide kill his friends, family, sense of safety and home; it also destroyed the stadiums where he trained, played, and gathered.
