🚨 URGENT: Israel’s illegal settlements in the West Bank are forcing Palestinians off their land and worsening an existing healthcare crisis.

Armed settlers intimidate healthcare workers and block ambulances, and Palestinians face road closures and checkpoints to access the care they need.

Last week, the Foreign Secretary advised British businesses not to trade with illegal Israeli settlements. But what good is advice when the UK can introduce an outright ban?

The UK has recognised Israel’s settlements as illegal – now it needs to act like it.

For Palestinians, the Nakba was never a single event. It’s an ongoing catastrophe inherited across generations.

Today we continue our Nakba series sharing a story from Lebanon.

Palestinians in Lebanon are denied their right to return back to their homeland, and face some of the most severe restrictions imposed on any refugee population in the world, where they are denied basic civil rights – including access to healthcare by the Lebanese government.

Yesterday, an order was authorised to expel and demolish the homes of the community in Khan al-Ahmar.

Khan al-Ahmar is near East Jerusalem in “Area C” of the West Bank - which is under full Israeli military control and denied access to permanent healthcare.

Over many years, the community has faced violence and threats from the Israeli military and settlers.

This is the latest step towards deepening Israel’s unlawful annexation and illegal settlement expansion in the West Bank, and raises serious concerns about the risk of forcible transfer and ethnic cleansing.

The UK Government has consistently chosen half measures and empty words over real accountability - and it's Palestinians who are paying the price.

The UK must take urgent, tangible action to prevent the expulsion of Palestinians from their land. This includes:

🔴 Suspending the UK-Israel trade agreement until violations have ended.

🔴 Banning trade with illegal Israeli settlements.

🔴 Taking all legal, economic, and diplomatic measures to hold those responsible to account.

The Nakba didn't end in 1948.

Today, forced displacement continues in Gaza and the West Bank, and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, and all over the world, are still living in exile, denied their right to return home.

Mona, MAP's Communications Assistant in Gaza, shares what it means to carry this catastrophe, not only as a legacy, but as a lived reality.

Good luck to our striders starting the 186km challenge tomorrow!

Tomorrow marks 77 years since the Nakba, when hundreds of Palestinian towns and villages were forced to leave or fled militias during the creation of the state of Israel.

Today, Palestinians continue to be denied basic healthcare. Forced displacement continues in Gaza and the West Bank, and Palestinian refugees are still denied their right to return home.

Taking on this challenge is solidarity in action and we are so grateful for your support. ❤️

👆A reminder: the UK government is continuing to enable Israel's atrocities in Palestine.

New research from Campaign Against the Arms Trade (CAAT) has revealed that the UK has granted licenses for the export of "components and technology for targeting equipment" to Israel - despite the Government announcing it had suspended such licenses in September 2024.

The UK also continues to permit the exports of F-35 components to Israel.

❌ We continue to call on the UK Government to suspend ALL arms to Israel.

Anything less means the UK will remain an ally to atrocities.

Israel's blockade on Gaza is exacerbating the worsening conditions for Palestinians in Gaza.

👉 Temporary and makeshift shelters are overcrowded.

👉 There are severe shortages of clean water, food, fuel and medications.
