The Why
Solo rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic ocean will push me to my limits. A challenge of this magnitude offers an unparalleled platform to deliver a core message about using sport and challenge to empower and create change.
Women's sport is at the start of a revolution, but there's still a long way to go to level the playing field. UK charity 'Women In Sport' are driving positive cultural change and breaking down barriers to ensure women and girls have the same opportunity to benefit from the lifelong and transformational rewards of sport - both on and off the field. Having worked as a sports lawyer for the best part of a decade, and experienced sport as a powerful vehicle for change in my personal life, this is a cause close to my heart. I passionately believe that everyone should have the same opportunities in sport, regardless of gender.
