International Week of Deaf People 2026: One week with hundreds of smiles, signs, and shared moments.

It’s hard to put into words what a special week we had at RAD… so we put together a video instead!

Seeing our London space so full of life, conversation, and creativity all week long was the best way to mark this special occasion in our 185th year. To every visitor, presenter, and supporter who made the celebrations so lively and memorable: thank you!

Truly an unforgettable night at RAD HQ with Avril Langard-Tang! 🤙

On Friday evening, Avril joined us to share the story behind her incredible journey walking the length of the country to raise awareness and shine a light on the healthcare barriers deaf people still face today.

The atmosphere in the room was electric, filled with great conversations, shared experiences, and a real sense of community spirit.

A huge thank you to Avril for sharing her story with us, and to everyone who came along to make our final IWDP event so memorable.

Let’s take a look back at the evening!

A fantastic day exploring visual storytelling with photographer Becky Bailey 📷

Becky’s photography workshop was packed out on Wednesday for International Week of Deaf People. We started out at RAD HQ before heading out into the local area to put ideas into practice with our cameras and phones.

It was wonderful to see so many people exploring creative ways to capture authentic moments and look at their surroundings in a new light. We even got our own camera out, so here’s a look behind the scenes!

Did you join us for this workshop? We would love to see what you captured, so please tag us in your photos or share them here!

What an incredible evening at RAD HQ!

A huge thank you to the brilliant Chris Fonseca for bringing so much energy, fun, and movement to our London office earlier this week for his BSL Dance Workshop for International Week of Deaf People.

From exploring rhythm to bringing BSL and dance together on the floor, the atmosphere in the room was fantastic from start to finish.

Here is a quick look at how the evening went! 🕺

Thank you to everyone who joined us - we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
