Happy Pride Month.

While Pride is often associated with parades, festivals and celebration, its roots are in activism, resilience and the ongoing fight for equality.

This month, we'll be sharing stories, education, awareness and ways we can all help create a more inclusive world for LGBTQ+ people.

How will you be celebrating Pride this year?

SATURDAY 4TH JULY 2026 EMBRACING EVERYONE;A HOME FOR ALL OF LONDON’S LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITIES Pride in London is a historic LGBTQIA+ celebration that transforms the Capital into a stage for visibility. Harvey Milk Day. 🕯️🏳️‍🌈

Today we remember Harvey Milk.
A trailblazer, activist, and one of the first openly gay elected officials in the United States.

His voice helped create visibility, courage, and hope for generations of LGBTQ+ people who followed.

“Hope will never be silent.”

Born: 22 May 1930
Assassinated: 27 November 1978

Today closes Trans+ History Week 🏳️‍⚧️, and as we head into Pride season, let's be clear: actions speak louder than words.

Trans people fought for the rights our community enjoys today. Right now, as they face unprecedented scrutiny and attack, it's our turn to stand up, literally, for them.

This Pride season:
🌈 Use correct pronouns, always
✊ Amplify trans voices
💷 Support trans-led organisations
🗣️ Call out transphobia, even the subtle kind
🤝 Centre trans people at Pride, not just include them

At Mulwade, solidarity isn't seasonal. Honour the history. Show up for the present. 🖤🤍💜

HIV stigma didn’t disappear just because medicine improved.

It still shows up in language, in assumptions, in silence, and in the way people are judged before they’re understood.

That stigma has real consequences. It can stop people from getting tested, asking questions, and getting the support they deserve.

Ending stigma starts with what we say, what we share, and what we choose to learn.

We all have a role to play in stopping HIV stigma.

There is still far too much misinformation about HIV, and misinformation fuels stigma.
So here are a few important reminders:

Myth: HIV is a thing of the past.
Fact: HIV remains an important public health and social issue, which is why awareness still matters.

Myth: You can tell if someone has HIV by looking at them.
Fact: You cannot.

Myth: HIV defines someone’s future.
Fact: With treatment and support, people living with HIV can and do live full lives.

The more we challenge outdated thinking, the more room we make for understanding, compassion, and better conversations.

Medical evidence has shown that people on effective HIV treatment can’t pass HIV on.

Does HIV survive on surfaces?

Short answer: not for long. HIV is fragile outside the body; exposure to air inactivates it quickly, and it cannot reproduce on surfaces. Everyday contact like hugging, kissing, sharing toilets or cutlery, or touching dried blood on intact skin does not transmit HIV. Transmission needs all three: enough active virus, the right body fluid, and a route to your bloodstream.

The main exception is used needles, which can trap blood away from air. Do not share injecting equipment; if you’re worried about a recent high-risk exposure, seek medical advice about PEP.
