On 1st June, a further meeting was held at the University of Oxford, Oriel College, to discuss potential reforms to the law governing critical care.
The meeting brought together politicians, representatives from TRF, and other researchers to consider how the current legal framework interacts with complex critical care and end-of-life decision-making, and how it might be improved to better reflect ethical, clinical, and societal realities.
There was a strong sense throughout the discussion that this is an area where the law needs careful reflection and thoughtful reform to ensure it remains fit for purpose in such sensitive and high-stakes situations.
This is an ongoing conversation, and public engagement matters. If you feel strongly about this issue, we encourage you to write to your local MP and share your views on the importance of reviewing and improving the current legal framework.
Meaningful change often begins with informed public voice.
