Join us in welcoming SJIWFF's new Institute Director, Kelly Davis!

Kelly is leading our Institute's programming, advancing inclusion, diversity, and representation across the screen industries through ongoing artist and industry development opportunities.

"Having been privileged to contribute to the Festival’s development and to witness the remarkable leadership of Jenn Brown and her team over the past decade, I am thrilled to return home to SJIWFF as its inaugural Institute Director," Kelly shared. "Our industry is at a pivotal moment - one that demands bold voices, meaningful collaboration and lasting change - and I am honoured to help SJIWFF meet this moment while expanding opportunities for women and gender-diverse creators to thrive."

Kelly joins the team with over 25 years of film production, arts administration and storytelling experience, including 12 years with the National Film Board and a decade of experience as SJIWFF's Executive Director! A founding member of WIFT-Atlantic, Kelly is also Vice-Chair of the Newfoundland Independent Filmmakers Cooperative.

Welcome Kelly! We are delighted to have you join the team and are grateful for the incredible experience and leadership you bring to SJIWFF.
