This week’s feature highlights East Coast Glow, a wildcrafted skincare company rooted in the beautiful community of Bonavista, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Founded by Karen and Roger Dewling, East Coast Glow creates sustainable, plant-based skincare inspired by the wild landscapes of Newfoundland and Labrador. From iceberg water to locally foraged botanicals like river mint and wild rose, their products celebrate the natural ingredients found right here on the island.

What began in 2010 as a search for a natural solution for their newborn daughter’s skin has grown into a modern apothecary studio and shop near the edge of the North Atlantic. Today, Karen and Roger continue to hand-forage and harvest sustainable ingredients while combining traditional knowledge with modern approaches to skincare.

East Coast Glow is a wonderful example of how local ingredients, creativity, sustainability, and a strong sense of place can come together to create a uniquely Newfoundland and Labrador experience.

Each year, the Atlantic Canada Agreement on Tourism (ACAT) brings travel advisors and tour operators from key international markets to experience the region firsthand. In 2026, ACAT is supporting 32 FAM tours, up from 23 in 2025.

These immersive experiences help travel trade partners confidently recommend Atlantic Canada, leading to new travel bookings, tour packages and greater awareness of the region.

Through FAM tours, ACAT is helping to:
• Increase awareness of Atlantic Canada in key international markets.
• Educate travel advisors and tour operators about experiences across all four provinces.
• Strengthen relationships with the travel trade that influence where visitors choose to travel.
• Showcase how easy it is for travellers to explore multiple Atlantic Canadian provinces in a single trip.

When travel advisors experience Atlantic Canada for themselves, they become trusted ambassadors, helping inspire more visitors to explore the four provinces.

Please join us in welcoming Kayla Dominix to the Hospitality NL team as our Student Intern!

Kayla recently completed two years of Business Administration at Academy Canada, where she developed a strong interest in marketing and social media content creation.

Having worked on the front lines of the tourism industry, Kayla has seen firsthand the importance of creating memorable experiences for visitors. She’s excited to build on that experience, learn more about the industry from a different perspective, and discover the many ways Hospitality NL supports tourism across the province.

Outside of work, Kayla enjoys travelling, baking, and connecting with people, but her greatest passion is, without a doubt, being a Mom. ❤️

We’re thrilled to have Kayla join our team this summer and can’t wait to see all that she brings to Hospitality NL!

Welcome to the team, Kayla!
