Our Story
Tourism Quality Assurance of Newfoundland and Labrador (TQA) are pleased to offer programs that are designed to elevate quality in tourism products and services in Newfoundland and Labrador. Canada Select and Camping Select are key programs of TQA which have made a substantial impact on elevating the the quality of accommodations in the province by providing rating and inspection services on behalf of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation. Access Advisor is a program which verifies and designates levels of accessibility within a business or facility. Providing opportunities for quality experiences is key for TQA, the Access Advisor program lets travelers know what to expect in terms of accessibility before they arrive onsite. Tourism operators can use the Access Advisor designation in their marketing efforts to promote their level of access. Think beyond wheelchairs, our designations include auditing of full accessibilty, partial, sight and hearing accessibility.
The Welcome Programs (Pets Welcome, Cyclists Welcome, Motorcyclists Welcome) are a suite of programs that are designed to empower tourism operators who wish to attract these specific travelers. The Welcome Programs assist tourism operators in providing products and services that enhance the customer experience for people who travel with pets, motorcycle and bicycle travelers. TQA will continue to research and implement programs that will contribute to the goals and priorities of the provincial tourism industry as defined by partners of the Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism Board and Uncommon Potential: A Vision for Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism.
