Attention members. Black Panel Press is now accepting long form prose submissions to supplement their graphic novel line. Novels and narrative non-fiction. See below for more details.

Call for Submissions: Black Panel Press

Black Panel Press is now accepting submissions for graphic novels, novels, and narrative nonfiction.

Black Panel Press is an independent publisher that relocated to St. John’s in 2024. Since 2017, we have primarily published graphic novels, with a focus on literary, international, and visually distinctive work, including the local anthology Town: St. John’s in Comics. Our books are distributed internationally, and we’ve built our list around literary, artistic, and culturally distinctive projects.

While we remain primarily a graphic novel publisher, we are now expanding submissions beyond comics and are especially interested in novels and narrative nonfiction with a strong voice, a clear point of view, and literary or cultural value.

We are looking for bold, distinctive work that feels personal, original, and difficult to ignore. We are especially interested in projects that are strange, beautiful, political, funny, unsettling, visually ambitious, or hard to place elsewhere.
