We are in an era of global backlash against 2SLGBTQIA+ rights — and Canada is not an exception. Now is the time for Canada to lead: to speak up and stand up for 2SLGBTQIA+ equality at home and abroad.

Since 2022, the Federal 2SLGBTQIA+ Action Plan has strengthened community organizations and invested in hundreds of projects across the country. But it's set to expire soon.

And in this political moment, we know our issues are being pushed aside and deprioritized — unless we do something about it. We can’t afford to have 2SLGBTQIA+ issues forgotten — especially not when the stakes are so high.

That’s why today, over 100+ allied organizations are joining together to call on the Government of Canada to renew and expand the Action Plan. ✊️ 🏳️‍🌈

What a fun time we had teaming up with Port Rexton Pride, St. John's Pride and Lawnya Vawnya to host a three day Pride celebration in Port Rexton. Friday August 14th until Sunday August 16th was filled with smiles, music, dancing, games, and community. A big thanks to Port Rexton Brewing for hosting several of the gatherings and Two Whales Coffee Shop for hosting the closing event after the Parade and March.

We hope everyone who attended enjoyed the fun and are looking forward to what Port Rexton Pride will have in store for the 2027 festival season.

Quadrangle NL was honoured to have attended a first-of-its-kind gathering of federal, provincial and territorial 2SLGBTQIA+ parliamentarians from across Canada last week hosted by Society of Q***r Momentum. In advance of the critical federal budget upcoming, our Executive Director, C**t Politte, joined other leaders from national, regional and local 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations for a day and a half of relationship building, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning. The discussions included identifying key issues and a renewal and expansion of the Federal 2SLGBTQIA+ Action Plan. The parliamentarians heard directly about the needs, priorities and the work being done within community. We are so grateful for this opportunity to connect with and learn from our peers, and to be part of this united front working towards advancing these shared interests!

The garden is gardening!

This coming Thursday, August 27th, 1pm-2:30pm is the next trip to the Community Garden at Memorial University (long pond). Come see the garden and share some time with Quadrangle NL.

At our last garden visit we harvested some greens, radishes and saw five spaghetti squashes in different stages of growing. We checked on the carrots but they are still too small. The one we pulled was a two bite carrot :). The team planted more radishes to keep the rad-time in the dirt going.

It was great to see community members and staff getting to take some veggies and greens home with them.

As a reminder, during these garden hours our regular drop-in at Forest Road will be closed.
