This past Thursday, at our ALR meeting, we had a passing of the pacifier.
Assistant Director, Sarge, accepted the pacifier from previous recipient, Kenny Crist (who wore it proudly) and passed it along to our Sgt at Arms, Nate Baergen. I'm sure he will also wear it with pride.

Yesterday, members of Post 4 ALR along with CVMA KS 21-3 "Guardians of the Plains" and American Legion Post 136 Mulvane Kansas, in conjunction with 22 Too Many, had the honor of presenting a memorial bench to the family of SrA Elysia Vasquez, USAF, who died by su***de in 2020.

The bench was sponsored by Scheels and built by Operation Creekside, a non-profit organization providing hope and healing for families impacted by military su***de loss.

An average of 22 US Military Veterans lose their lives to su***de a day. That is 22 too many!

This past weekend, members of Post 4, along with Post 81, did a flagged ride-in to Eldorado Lake to kick off the opening ceremonies for the Kansas Veterans Festival. In addition to the ride-in, Post 4 color guard presented colors during the national anthem.
A special shout-out and heartfelt thank you goes to SSG Carlos Morales from the 1st Infantry Division Band (Fort Riley) for taking and sharing these wonderful photos of some the mornings events. You can check out more of his amazing work on Facebook and Instagram .

Members of Post 4 and 136 were honored to hold a flag line to welcome the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America to Wichita tonight! After the ride in, Mayor Lily Wu declared May 4th to be Kyle Petty Charity Ride day. Those representing Post 4 & 136 had the pleasure of taking a group picture with Mayor Wu along with Kyle & Richard Petty! What a great evening! Thank you to everyone that was able to attend and represent the American Legion Riders! 🇺🇸🏍️🏁
