Tonight, Project Pay It Forward Wichita got to be part of something truly special. ❤️

A few months ago, we had the opportunity to meet and get to know Sean while he was living in one of our local homeless encampments. We listened to his story, learned about his journey, and stayed in touch along the way.

As the city was finalizing the closure of the encampment…Sean and his wife, Tara, finally got a place of their own to call home.

Tonight, our team had the privilege of delivering furniture, household essentials, and food to help them get settled into this new chapter.

THIS is what Project Pay It Forward Wichita lis all about.

It’s about the people behind the circumstances. The stories that don’t end where we first find them. And the hope that can grow even in the most uncertain places.

We may not have been the ones who made this home possible, but we were blessed to play a small part in making it feel more like home.

Here’s to new beginnings and the beautiful reminder that everyone’s story is still being written. ❤️

P.S. Sean and Tara’s greatest need right now is food, as assistance from local food banks has been limited. If anyone has canned goods, nonperishable foods, snacks, or other grocery essentials to spare, please reach out! They also have a dog and two cats, so pet food and supplies would be appreciated as well. ❤️ Thank You!!!

Even though it was just three of us and two amazing volunteers today, we made a pretty good dent! ❤️ But we still have A LOT of work ahead!

We’ll be back at it tomorrow around 10:00–10:30 AM, and we’d love to have more hands to help us sort, organize, and separate donations so we can get them where they’re needed most.

We have a large amount of dress clothes going to Dress for Success, and we’ll likely be donating to Open Door as well. We’re also looking to help other organizations in our community. If you’re a like-minded organization that could use clothing, household items, or other resources, reach out to us! We believe in helping the people who help people. ❤️

And to everyone who has donated, volunteered, shared, or supported Project Pay It Forward Wichita — THANK YOU! None of this happens without you.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen of our beautiful community! ❤️

We have an urgent need today. A newborn baby is ready to go home, but the family is currently in need of a car seat before they can leave Wesley Labor & Birth Center.

If anyone is willing and able to help provide a car seat for this family, we would be incredibly grateful. We are more than happy to pick it up and personally deliver it to them.

We would also love to collect additional car seats for future situations like this. If you have a new or gently used car seat you’d like to donate, we’d be happy to accept it and keep it available for families who may find themselves in the same situation.

Sometimes a simple donation can make a huge difference for a family. Let’s come together and make sure this little one gets home safely. ❤️

📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE!

We’re making a small change to our weekly handout schedule! Our main handout day is moving from Sunday to Monday, allowing more of our organization members to be available and involved. And honestly, we couldn’t think of a better way to start the week than by giving back to our community! ❤️

📍 Monday Handouts:
Corner of Broadway & Pine

We will also continue our monthly partnership with Rooted Recovery. Every third Sunday of the month at 1:00 PM, we’ll meet at the same location on the corner of Broadway & Pine.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support what we do. We’re excited to keep showing up, serving our community, and starting each week by paying it forward! 🙌

A little update on donations:

At this time, we are still extremely overloaded with clothing donations, so at the moment, we are on a halt when it comes to clothing. However, we are still in great need of toiletries, hygiene products, non-perishable foods,and shoes, as these are some of the items our community members need the most.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to each and every one of you for your kindness and generosity. Watching our community come together to help one another has been nothing short of beautiful. The amount of love, compassion, and support that has poured in continues to amaze us every single day.

Because of all of you, we are able to continue reaching those who need it most. Thank you for believing in our mission and for proving once again just how incredible our city truly is. ❤️

Due to the overwhelming generosity of our community, we've received such a large volume of donations that we're doing an extra outreach handout this evening.

If you or someone you know could use clothing, household items, or other essentials, please come by. Everyone is welcome to stop in, see what we have available, and take whatever they need. If you know someone who may not see this post, feel free to bring them with you.

We also have a mattress and end tables that are looking for a new home. As always, everything is completely free—if you need it, it's yours.

We have a small favor to ask.

One of the incredible people who works tirelessly behind the scenes for Project Pay It Forward Wichita is going through a difficult time. She spends countless hours helping organize our storage, sort donations, and prepare supplies that go directly into the hands of those in need.

Right now, she's in urgent need of a car seat for a 2-year-old.

If you have one in good, safe condition that you no longer need, we would be incredibly grateful for your help. You can message us directly or drop it off at our donation location.

Also, stay tuned this week—we're excited to announce a donation we're making to an incredible cause that we're proud to support.

The support from our community has been nothing short of incredible, and we truly can't thank you all enough. Because of your generosity, we are currently overflowing with donations.

At this time, we have to temporarily pause accepting any new donations. We have simply run out of storage space and need to focus on getting the donations we already have into the hands of the people and families who need them most.

Please know this is only a temporary hold. As soon as we have the space and are ready to begin accepting donations again, we'll let everyone know.
