Today, 9 members of Professional Women in Building proudly volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in support of the Rock the Block project right here in Wichita! 🏡💙

Through this incredible initiative, 16 homes have been purchased — creating safe, stable housing for 25 adults and 31 children in our community.

We are honored to give back alongside partners who are making a lasting impact and helping families build brighter futures. Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and represented PWB today!

Wichita Habitat for Humanity's MLK Build comes full circle! The two frames built during the MLK Day of Service now stand as homes for two forever neighbors, proving the incredible power of a Beloved Community.

On May 21, we officially welcomed Patrick, Sandra, and their family of six as the newest homeowners in Rock the Block #214!

After struggling with overcrowding and uncertainty in a cramped two-bedroom apartment, they reached out to Wichita Habitat for Humanity for a permanent solution. Through incredible determination, Patrick and Sandra exceeded program expectations by completing 450 hours of sweat equity and 40 hours of homebuyer education.

Now, equipped with a ZERO-PERCENT (0%) interest mortgage, Patrick and Sandra are finally building equity, personalizing their own space, and investing in their future.

A huge thank you to our community leaders behind the Service for Change initiative. Your support continues to make a deeply meaningful impact on affordable housing in our community!

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Because of their unwavering courage, we are able to live freely and build strong communities together.

Our program office and Wichita Habitat ReStore will be closed in observance of the holiday on Monday, May 25.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Tom Gillan, one of our trusted tree removal subcontractors and dear friend to Wichita Habitat for Humanity. His generous spirit and tireless work with us will be deeply missed.

Please join us in honoring his memory today, Friday, May 22, at 10:00 a.m. for his Celebration of Life at the Cozine Life Events Center (11500 E. 21st St. N., Wichita).

Memorials have been established with Wichita Habitat for Humanity and the Wichita Animal Action League. Our hearts are with his fiancée Jessica, his family, and all who knew him.
