A big congratulations to three women who all made major contributions to the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists designation. SRM honored them with the Renner Award at the Annual Meeting in February.

The Renner Award is the most prestigious honor bestowed by the Society for Range Management.

If you know someone deserving of this honor, nominate them for the 2027 award before July 31!

USDA recently announced finalization of their NEPA rule, a move that directly impacts SRM and its members. In response, SRM President John Walker released the following statement:

"Any change to NEPA implementation that affects how quickly and effectively conservation, vegetation management, and grazing-related projects move forward is therefore of direct concern to SRM. SRM appreciates the opportunity to streamline NEPA and make it simpler for stewards, producers, and managers of the land to care for it in ways that are grounded in sound science..."

Last week’s announcement of a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between USDA and the Department of the Interior exemplifies the kind of common-sense, partnership-driven approach we have pioneered since our founding.
