On May 17, 1954, the Supreme Court issued its ruling in the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education case, rejecting the “separate but equal” doctrine that allowed school segregation. Thank you all for being part of an amazing event with our Young Scholars and Graduating Students! We want to thank the graduating student who made the cupcakes and Pastes el Valle for the great food.

A few other updates:
-For those that could not pick up their stoles at the event, they will recieve an email this coming week with more information for pick up.
-The pictures taken at the event will be posted on Nuestras Raices Facebook in the next couple of weeks.

We are so excited to have all of you at the Annual Hispanic Latine Graduation and Recognition Ceremony! Take note that the building has changed from tje gymnasium to the student lair which is building 6!

Be there at 5pm and get some drinks, snacks, and meet some of the resources we've invited to be there! Doors open at 4:45pm!

✨️ Student Speaker Announcement ✨️
We are excited to welcome one of our graduating students this year Alma Vazquez, as our Student Speaker!

🎓 Alma Vazquez is student from Eastern Washington University, earing her degree in Social Work. We have been fortunate to have her at the center working with the community and are excited to see her continue with her career!

Farmworker women and girls are vulnerable to sexual abuse & harassment by supervisors, company
owners, crew leaders & others. They're unlikely to report it & many may not know that they have any
rights against the abuse. Farmworker women and girls also face retaliation, like risk of being fired, and
continued threats of physical & sexual violence if they refuse advances, including retaliation against
their family members who work with them. Join us on Wednesday, April 22nd for an art-activism workshop to discuss the struggles of farmworker women and decorate bandanas in solidarity!
