We could not be more excited to announce Stephaine Courtney as the recipient of the 2026 Helping Hand Award!

Through The Shades of Motherhood Network, Stephaine has turned her own experiences into powerful advocacy, creating the kind of support for Spokane families that she once needed herself. Her compassion and determination have changed lives countless lives in our community, and we are deeply honored to recognize her as Spokane’s first Community Connector of the Year.

Meet the local leaders who will help choose the first recipient of the Helping Hand Award!

The Community Review Panel will review nominations and select the first recipient of the award, recognizing one Spokane resident whose dedication to our community has made a meaningful impact over the last year.

But before they can choose a recipient, we need your voice.
Know someone who makes Spokane stronger? Nominations are open through July 31st!

The selected recipient will be honored on stage during Hands Across Spokane on September 12th at Riverfront Park.
