Sometimes, the best part of the day is knowing someone is coming.

Maybe she’s waiting for her meal. Maybe she’s looking forward to the friendly face that comes with it. Maybe she’s simply happy to know someone is thinking of her.

At Meals on Wheels Spokane, we know that what we deliver is about so much more than food. It’s a knock at the door. A familiar smile. A few minutes of conversation. A reminder that someone cares.

For many of the seniors we serve, that connection is just as important as the meal itself.
Because everyone deserves to feel seen, remembered, and cared for. ❤️

Each card is made with so much thought and care, and some even feature the cutest little elves with movable legs! 🧝‍♂️🧝‍♀️ We have a feeling those little elves are going to be a big hit. 😊
One thing is for certain: these beautiful cards are going to bring a whole lot of smiles to the seniors we serve. And during the holidays, that little bit of connection and kindness can mean so much.
Thank you, Cards for Comfort, for helping us spread some extra joy this holiday season! ❤️

Isolation can quietly take a toll on older adults. That’s why Meals on Wheels Spokane is about more than nutrition. Our volunteers deliver meals and connection, helping seniors stay nourished, seen, and connected to their community.
Every meal is an opportunity to say, “We’re here. We see you. You matter.”
Because sometimes, a meal feeds the body.
Connection feeds the soul.

💙 A SHOUT OUT TO HORIZON CREDIT UNION… AGAIN! 💙

For the second time this week, we’re giving a very well deserved shout out to our friends at Horizon Credit Union!

We are so fortunate to have community partners who don’t just show up when there’s a big event or a big need. They keep showing up. Month after month. Year after year.

Last year, we shared that our Emergency Food Pantry had been completely depleted. That pantry helps our seniors stretch their grocery dollars just a little bit further when times are tight.

Since then, Andy and the team at Horizon Credit Union have stopped by once a month to restock our pantry. Every single month. ❤️

That kind of consistency means so much.

Because behind every box of food is a senior who may be trying to make a grocery budget last until the end of the month. And behind that senior is a community that says, we see you, and we care.

To Andy and the entire Horizon Credit Union team, thank you for remembering our seniors and continuing to show up for them. And thank you to all of the businesses, organizations and individuals throughout Spokane who do the same.

It truly takes a community.

And we are incredibly grateful to be part of this one. ❤️
