Stronger Together for Spokane’s Women & Children 💚

At Transitions, we know that true community healing and stability take a village. That’s why we are so deeply grateful for incredible local partners like the Women & Children's Free Restaurant & Community Kitchen.

WCFR has been a beacon of dignity in Spokane, providing free, nutritious meals and essential food resources to women and children in a safe, welcoming environment. Their heart for nourishing both body and spirit aligns so closely with our mission to end poverty and homelessness in our region.

When organizations lean on each other, our entire community lifts up. Thank you, WCFR, for the vital work you do every single day to make sure no woman or child in Spokane goes hungry.

When a woman walks through the doors of Women’s Hearth, she finds more than just immediate access to basic needs—she finds safety, community, and respect. 💜

We’re so grateful to The Inlander for highlighting the vital role Women’s Hearth plays in downtown Spokane, ensuring women experiencing homelessness and poverty have a welcoming space, essential resources, and connections to long-term stability.

One week left. Help us finish strong!

For decades, four communities of Catholic Sisters built and sustained Transitions, creating safe spaces for women and children in Spokane when no one else would. Now their numbers are declining, and it is our turn to carry their legacy forward.
This summer we launched our first endowment campaign. A permanent foundation for this work. And we have one week left.

We've raised $52,025 so far. Every dollar is being doubled by a $120,000 matching gift, but the match closes this Monday, August 31st.

We need:
5 Leadership gifts ($10,000)
5 Mid-Level gifts ($1,500)
A handful of Core and Broad Base gifts ($50–$300)

Every gift, at every level, helps us get there.

⏳ One week. One chance to double your impact.

Our endowment matching gift closes August 31st, and every dollar given right now is matched.

We're 43% of the way to our goal. We need gifts of every size to finish strong, from $50 to $10,000.

This isn't a one-time gift. It's a permanent investment in the women and children Transitions serves for generations to come.

Our anonymous donor is at it again! This month's community field trip took the women of the Hearth to experience the wonder of the Museum of Arts and Culture. As with their last trip to River Park Square, each adventure is fully covered—including travel, event passes, and lunch—giving these wonderful women a chance to explore, connect, and experience the best of Spokane.

We are deeply grateful for the donor support that makes these uplifting, joy-filled experiences possible. After all, you can’t truly be a part of a community if you don’t get to experience it.

Building Homes & Hope Together 🏡✨

Moving into a new space is a powerful milestone, but turning a house into a warm, welcoming home takes a community. We want to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to Unity Spiritual Center, Spokane for their incredibly thoughtful donation of home goods!

From kitchen essentials to cozy household items, these donations go directly to the women and families in our programs as they transition into permanent housing. Having these everyday items ready on day one brings comfort, dignity, and peace of mind during a major life transition.

Thank you, Unity Spiritual Center Spokane, for wrapping our neighbors in care and helping us create spaces where families can truly settle in and thrive! 💚

A Little Blue Sky & Peaceful Visitors 🦌💙

After a heavy, challenging week for Spokane, moments like this feel extra special. We were treated to a peaceful visit from a few local deer at one of our housing locations today—a gentle reminder of the quiet resilience all around us.

With the Spokane Complex Fires now contained and the blue sky finally peeking through the smoke, our hearts are full of relief and gratitude.

We are so profoundly thankful for the first responders, firefighters, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to protect our region. Just as inspiring has been watching our community rally together—opening doors, sharing resources, and checking in on neighbors every step of the way.

To everyone who reached out, offered help, or held our city in their thoughts: thank you. Spokane is truly at its best when we show up for one another. 🌲✨
