Habitat for Humanity-Spokane has an open-door policy. All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views, or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people. In short, Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith. Habitat for Humanity-Spokane will partner with community members of Spokane, including other affordable housing providers, ethnic and minority communities, and low-income families to raise the standards of housing. Habitat for Humanity-Spokane will foster hope, stability, and dignity for families in partnership while building our community through quality homeownership.

Every front door and window installed brings us closer to the day a future Habitat homeowner turns the key, opening the door to stability and the chance to change their family’s future. 🔑

Our first CEO Build Presented by Bank of America brought over 20 executive-level volunteers onto the build site to help make that future possible.

Over two shifts, with multiple volunteers staying for both, the group contributed 116 volunteer hours in just one day, nearly three full workweeks of hands-on help. 🔨

Thank you to for making this pilot event possible, and to the leaders who spent the day helping build a place for more Spokane families to call their own.

This pilot is just a starting point. We look forward to bringing more local leaders onto the build site, connecting their leadership with hands-on opportunities to strengthen the communities they serve in the years to come. 💙

The first shovels are in the ground on South Riverton! 🏡

We gathered with Habitat homeowner Anneke, local leaders, advocates and community partners to celebrate the start of a new affordable homeownership development in Spokane. Anneke brought the purpose of the day into focus, sharing why more families need access to a home they can afford.

That need is what keeps us building. As these homes take shape, they’ll create more opportunities for families to put down roots and plan for their futures here in Spokane.

That’s a long time to wait for progress.

This fall, Women Build Presented by STCU brings women together to help build affordable homes in Spokane. A day on the build site won’t close that gap on its own, but it’s a chance to put our hands to work for more homeownership opportunities in our community. 🔨

There’s something powerful about seeing women on the build site, learning and working together as a home takes shape. 🔨

Women held just 14.4% of U.S. construction payroll jobs in 2025. Women Build Presented by STCU creates space for women to get hands-on with construction while helping build affordable homes in Spokane. 💙

Join us October 14th - 17th for our fall build. No experience is needed, and volunteers ages 16 and up are welcome. The $50 registration fee helps cover construction materials and includes a T-shirt and lunch.

Habitat for Humanity-Spokane’s Government Affairs team recently met with the to commemorate the groundbreaking of Lee Wade Landing and recognize the partnership behind it.

As a thank-you, we presented City representatives with a staff-signed shovel used during the groundbreaking ceremony. The City’s donation of land helped make this new 25-home, permanently affordable homeownership development possible.

Lee Wade Landing is named in honor of Lee Ada Wade, a longtime Spokane resident and community advocate who helped expand access to early childhood education in East Central Spokane. The development carries forward her belief that lasting change happens when neighbors invest in one another and each generation continues the work of the last.

Thank you to the City of Spokane Valley for helping us plant the next seed. 💙🏠

During the last 4 days 137 volunteers contributed over 540+ hours of work toward the homes taking shape at Lee Wade Landing. Incredible what our Spokane community has accomplished during Veterans Build 2026! 🏗️

Military families, supporters and community volunteers worked side by side turning their time, skills and shared commitment into measurable progress for future affordable housing in City of Spokane Valley!
