Habitat for Humanity-Spokane has an open-door policy. All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views, or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people. In short, Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in

need of decent housing regardless of race or religion. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith. Habitat for Humanity-Spokane will partner with community members of Spokane, including other affordable housing providers, ethnic and minority communities, and low-income families to raise the standards of housing. Habitat for Humanity-Spokane will foster hope, stability, and dignity for families in partnership while building our community through quality homeownership.

To our Spokane community: Habitat is offering a two-day 40% OFF sale at the Habitat Store this week.

As our community continues to navigate the impact of the recent wildfires, we know needs can look different depending on where you are in recovery. Shopping second life goods may not be for everyone, but keeping quality items in use, accessible and affordable has always been part of how we serve this community. If you or someone you know is in need of furniture, home goods, building materials, and more, join us Friday (August 28), and Saturday (August 29), from 9 AM–5 PM for 40% OFF almost everything in the store.

We've launched a website that brings together vetted community resources, a Community Assessment Form for those affected by the recent wildfires, and transparent information about how Habitat for Humanity-Spokane is evaluating needs, building partnerships and preparing to take action. If you’ve been affected by the wildfires, we want to hear from you. If you’re looking for resources, we want to help you find them.

If you’re an organization, business, contractor, or community member interested in partnering with us as recovery efforts take shape, you can also visit the site to learn how to get involved and connect with our team.

Homeownership starts with having the right information and resources. Join us for our 2nd Annual Homeownership Education Resource Fair (HERF) on Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at Chief Garry Park (2515 E Sinto Ave, Spokane, WA). Connect with local organizations in vendor booths, pick up free resources and have your questions answered during pop-up Q&As. We’ll also have free food, family-friendly music, and a kid zone for the whole family.

As our community continues navigating wildfire recovery, access to reliable housing information and community resources remains important. HERF is an opportunity to connect with organizations working to strengthen housing stability and help Spokane-area residents navigate the path toward homeownership.

Today, we are launching the ReBUILD Spokane Wildfire Recovery Fund.

When wildfires devastate communities, the work of rebuilding homes and restoring neighborhoods doesn't begin or end in a matter of days. Long-term housing recovery can take years.

Habitat for Humanity–Spokane has a long history of bringing people together to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. As our region begins the long road to recovery, we are working alongside our community, municipal, county, state, and Habitat for Humanity International partners to understand where our organization can have the greatest long-term impact.

The ReBUILD Spokane Wildfire Recovery Fund will help ensure Habitat is prepared to respond when long-term housing recovery opportunities emerge. Your support will help build the capacity, partnerships, and resources needed to serve our community in the months and years ahead.

Habitat-Spokane is excited to announce our newest homebuilding project in Spokane Valley, "Lee Wade Landing".

This development is named in honor of Lee Ada Wade, a longtime Spokane resident and East Central leader whose decades of neighborhood organizing, advocacy, and service helped bring resources, programs, and investment to the community she served. Community members recommended Wade for the honor, describing her as a true East Central champion whose impact cannot be overstated. Wade turned 99 years old on July 19th, the day before the groundbreaking.

The “Landing” portion of the name looks toward the future of the Carnahan site, including the planned pedestrian bridge and the opportunity to create a place of connection, access, and long-term community investment.
